When I went to the states in 24 an American asked me what I thought about the US. My answer was "it's the nicest third world country I've been to".
They were a bit shocked but I just replied honestly.
Crap infrastructure, above ground power lines, bad food and water that smells of chemicals is just some of it.

In March 2020, the Norwegian university NTNU attracted massive international attention. During the coronavirus pandemic outbreak that month, NTNU issued a message asking its international students to return to Norway, describing the USA in a Facebook post, as a country with an "underdeveloped healthcare system" and "underdeveloped public transport infrastructure."

The reason European cities are more beautiful is because we build around nature instead of over it as you do in the US.

When the world richest country can't afford free healthcare you are doing something wrong.

The US doesn’t have a lot of problems, the US is the problem

In a wealthy country, millionaires also take public transport.

People in the US who think they live in the best country in the world are the ones who have never travelled and experienced other places.

My dear brothers and sisters in Norway live in a very beautiful country...

US of A is a developing nation with a military dictatorship, lacking in social security, schooling and healthcare.

In the rest of the World you own a car, in the US car owns you

A pretty short history is one thing, but destroying cities - city centers and a grown infrastructure - just for car usage has happened throughout the USA.

In many cases, I also view the USA as a Third World country; you simply cannot imagine how life can be lived.

We measure happiness in life happiness, not trigger-happiness 🙏🇧🇻

I am american and I live in Norway. I agree with the poster. I don't think I could ever live in the US again and be happy. I have experienced a better way of life here and it made me realize how broken things are in the US. They system isn't working. And allot of americans buy the lie that it is the "greatest country". Allot of people are self serving instead of looking at the bigger picture and serving the community. After living in other countries, Norway now and Japan previously, I have really come to learn that the US isn't really as free as we have been raised to think we are, and that the system that used to work, does not work anymore. It is not sustainable as is. I still love my country, but not what it has become in the last 25+ years. I really have found such peace in Norway.

As a swede that has been to the US many many times I even lived there for a year. I see the US as a violent loud currupt country, part of is third world.

Not a good country to live in.

Americans used to think they lived in THE best country in the world and they where wrong. Now they think they still live in ONE of the best countries in tha world and they are still badly misstaken.

In the US, you don’t just need a car—you need a bulletproof car!
In Denmark, you might run into the Prime Minister or the King on the street or on social media, and she/he will actually talk to you; the reason the US is a developing country is that everyone competes with everyone else—as if that were necessary to make money?      It isn’t!👄👀

After going to the US and coming back to denmark, I would say yes to that. The cities because of the car centric focus feels like a dump, like driving around feels pretty good, the traffic lights are almost always green and the road are giant and wide. However walking around it feels like an absolute dump, it smells and the distance between everything is insanely long, like even short trips on foot take forever, also the traffic lights are always red and take forever and when they do turn green you have to scurry like a rat over a road the size of a football field.

The national parks on the other hand are absolute stunning well kept and overall very special.

Americans are raised on the idea that everything American is the best in the world. Many Americans believe that the world outside America is controlled by America and also think that all useful inventions were created by Americans—which is, of course, far from reality. However, I believe and hope that educated Americans understand the reality. Americans are, to a greater or lesser extent, subjected to brainwashing throughout their lives. Their way of life is based on consumption.
