Honestly heart of the swarm's biggest problem is that it doesn't have a bullet hell game. Why would I ever play this when the remaster of EoSD just came out????

Kerrigan is only trying to teach Valerian that controlling the Zerg is bad, because she is still salty about losing the All In to Raynor's 50 broodlord hit squad destroying the hatcheries to kill the time

I find Izsha funny, because her existence implies that Kerrigan post broodwar desired an Adjutant, but Zerg

It's crazy to me that Kerrigan didn't have a decent comeback for Lasara's comment about Kerrigan killing civilians. Imagine if Kerrigan's rebuttal was to mention the Protoss' method of purifying Zerg infestations on Terran worlds. Not even an attempt at communication or evacuation prior to glassing the planet. It would even give insight for her callous attitude toward Protoss lives.

To their credit, they technically retconned the end of Wings of Liberty a second time in Legacy of the Void, to remove the hybrids of Char and give full credit to the Artefact/Keystone for stealing Kerrigan's power and use it to restore Amon. Though I'm pretty sure they did it to justify Legacy's ending more than to correct any "flaws" with the original retcon.

I still can't watch the Lasarra dying to the parasite clip without giggling because of the protoss heart of the swarm campaign where she turns into solarite.

Funfact: THe only reason why kerigan revert to her old look (with a cheap color change) is literally because the cinematic team was too short on time to make a new model for her.
The original plan was to have her look completely different, with pace jelifish hairs and an overall more psionic look. Almost like an archon.

For me personally, I believe, Skygeirr station's story could have been fixed if they swapped the mission order, swapping missions 2 and 3. Having Kerrigan have her battle with Narud on mission 2 instead, leaving her critically wounded and the station beginning it's state of disarray, the hybrids burst out, their purpose to kill the queen of blades, who in her wounded state is unable to defend herself and must rely on Zagara and Izsha to lead the swarm for her against the Hybrid.

I think the idea behind Warfield's fortress being breakable by early-game zerg units ties really well into Arcturus's propaganda of having won. There is no zerg swarm, only scattered remnants. It makes sense why Warfield's dauntless plateau is able to be crushed without ultralisks and infestors, because why continue funding super-armies and ever upscaling fortifications if your enemies are supposedly dead already? By the time Warfield learns Kerrigan isn't dead, and is on Char, it's too late. Takes time to requisition new units and build new bases, time he didn't have.

I think the representation of Jimmyjims resolving his issue with re-zerged Kerrigan is that cutscene where he squints after her call with Valerian.

She agrees to avoid massed casualties, even though that will make her revenge more difficult, more dangerous. The old Queen of Blades wouldn't have done that - and I think that squint is him thinking about that.

(Valid point on headcanon tho - it could have been more clear, and yeah another world would have done that better)

(Edit: Also entirely valid about that last cutscene)

Maybe Kerrigan losing her memory was mostly to make everyone explain things to the player.
But i think her not being able to regain them helps making the evil Kerrigan feel like a whole other person.

On that little rant after rescuing Reynor: It's also never mentioned after the fact that Zeratul is the reason Kerrigan immediately gives up her humanity and goes to Zerus in the first place to become Queen of Blades 2. Like the whole Zeratul subplot in HotS is about how Kerrigan needs to be the Queen of Blades and since Jim is missing there's literally no exploration of whether there can be any work arounds or how that might be able to evolve (heh) differently.

So we end up with that cutscene where Kerrigan just says nothing except I love you, and Jim gets mad about a situation he only knows half of. Zeratul's subplot really just doesn't fit with the character development that the rest of the cast really wants to be going through (narratively speaking).

The fact we only see broken horn in those two cutscenes is a little disappointing. This zergling that is basically being treated like a pet disappears
