Giving to charity is obviously good BUT if taxes were actually done right and human were looked after we wouldn't require all these charities

The difference between a billion and a million is about a billion.

I'm so tired of consumption—goods, house redesigns, clothes, TikToks, skincare— and productivity culture. More and more, I'm turning it all off and going outside.

I truly believe that class consciousness is so hindered by the fact that the words million and billion sound similar. Babe, they are actually so different!!

Reminder that a million seconds is equivalent to ~12 days and a billion seconds is ~32 years.

Remember, Reagan was a celebrity, a famous Hollywood actor, before he was prez. Hated him alive, hate him more as he's valorized in death. What an insidious prick.

Labeling this as "peasant culture" is A+

The fact our brains are so rotted all of this is happening and we are simping for these celebrities instead of burning the government down is tragic. Truly the worst timeline.

Not American, but I think people are supportive of protecting the super rich because they delusionally think one day it could be them bc American dream yadda yadda.

Let’s get those wealth taxes going!!! Why do normal people defend billionaires? I have a $7M NW and I’m significantly closer to being an average viewer than I am to being a billionaire. TAX ME DADDY! (And all the other rich people at the same time) 💸🤑

it's so tacky. all the money in the world and you've chosen a venue you know will cause folks who aren't even involved in your wedding inconvenience.

Just the fact that adult people make a cult of famous people and protect them like they really know them like they are part of their family is killing me. I understand it when you are child or teen, but grown people.

People need to understand that before Taylor Swift is anything she is a businesswoman. Her business is herself. Much like Trump. People do not become billionaires by being music artists. She's a billionaire because she sells her brand and she is extremely successful to a degree that's very concerning as it pertains to class consciousness. We're dealing with a super El Nino created by climate change perpetuated by people like her. She has a disgusting carbon footprint. This is just Jeff Bezos wedding all over again

I keep saying this: someone could find the cure for every type of cancer and I would want that person to be filthy rich and live the rest of their life in luxury and whithout ever having to worry about money again. I still wouldn't want that person to be a billionaire though. I don't think  even that person deserves that amount of money. It doesn't matter how "good" someone is. I don't care. Shocking, I know.

Did the math…if you adjust for scale and calculate Taylor at exactly $1 billion, the $26million she gave away is the equivalent of a person with a $75,000 salary giving away $1,950.

I will just never jump to defend a celebrity when they do not care if I live or die. They only care for my attention, which is paid in more dollars.

What we call 'stan culture' used to be called 'cult of personality' and was only applied to perceived villains like Stalin or Jim Jones. Sadly, cult of personality is not exclusive to villains and is damaging whether the target is a villain or not.

10/10 title

Its insane how one couple gets to screw over an enormous transport station and multiple city blocks of businesses on a holiday for the right price. NUTS.
