2 counts of misconduct, plus obstruction of justice, perjury & around $1M taxpayer money for two trials = 3 years probation & 100 hours community service? she shoulda got jail & fines

This is why I was furious that a the judge didn't put Becky in jail. I said this would happen. That judge acted as if her paying back what she stole was worth a reward. Is she going to pay the states cost to retry him? No!

I live in Columbia, SC and worked in our legal community for 20 years. I have followed you for the entire trial. This analysis of the Supreme Court's ruling was so on point. Two things to mention are Alan Wilson is a candidate for Governor here. There's that. Also Craig Melvin is from Columbia, SC and was our news anchor for years. Dick and Jim surely know him, and Craig really leaned on them good. Made me chuckle. So did your response. Thanks for getting so many of us through that trial. : ). p.s. I think Becky needs to leave South Carolina. SHAME

I was a bailiff in my county for all the courts (felony and misdemeanor). The ONLY conversations the bailiffs would dare have with a juror was "Do you want coffee or tea", and whenever they had a question, we told them to simply write the question down and we would take it to the Judge. That being said, in my opinion, the financial crimes being brought out were absolutely paramount in this trial and proved his character and motive. So sad that this happened - costing the taxpayers so much money. 😒

EDB, Thank you for explaining. I am less pissed off than I was when I first heard that Murdaugh's verdict was overturned. Courthouse Becky's (aka Becca Boo) conduct was unprofessional and reprehensible. She terrorized the 'egg juror'. I had forgotten some of the details. Yikes!!! Prosecutor Creighton Waters looks trapped in a time loop. The Today interview with Poot and Jim Griffin was informative. Craig asked the questions that we all had. They all look exhausted and it has just restarted again.

I have much more respect for the court of North Carolina than I do for the court of Massachusetts. I would watch Emily’s full overage of this trial much more readily than any other.

When you try to interfere in the natural course of justice (like this case here, for any sort of gain, monetary and or fame) you create a giant mess that everyone else has to clean up. SMH.

I think Becky Hill is a southern busy body who was infantilizing the jurors. She probably thought the jurors were incapable of being a juror, seeing them as country bumpkins or something. I hate the fact that my SC tax dollars have to be spent on another trial but everyone deserves a fair trial.

That woman was completely out of pocket. Straight up lied. In what world would she think it was ok to talk to the jury in such a way. Out of curiosity is she allowed to write a book on what goes on in the background?
