Tremendous these old games.

Shanks was never going to lose this game !!

RIP Gordon.

Scotland and England play again what a great pleasure to watch these guys!!!

Did anyone else see the tension between David Harvey and Brian Clough in the tunnel

27:17 Kev is absolutely ripped. I knew he was in good shape back in the day, but I didn't realise his physique was quite that amazing 😮

Respect to Kevin Keegan ,so angryvready to cry shows the great character

You're going to get your fu*** head Ki** in - chanting in the good old days LOL.

24:15 And the festivities start with Giles right hook upside Kevin's head for which Johnny gets written up and a solid finger waggle.  And I'm not just blaming Johnny. Or even just Leeds. I'm sure there was stuff before that. This whole mess is the Ref's fault. Same as what happened in the 1971 FA Cup Final. Ref kept letting things slide until the players finally had to defend themselves. There is a difference between letting the boys play and letting a powder keg build up.

So good to watch teams made up of mostly home grown talent, including the managers.. Now it's just wads of dosh running about the pitch.

Shankley didnt seem to be interested in what Clough was saying in the tunnel.

24:18 Barry Davies: "..and that looked very much like a right hook by Johnny Giles....."   That's because it was, Barry! 🤣🤣  It's a strange observation that the Charity / Community Shield is seen mostly as an insignificant and largely irrelevant fixture, quickly forgotten,  and yet this first one in 1974 is one of the iconic matches of the 70's!

Fantastic stuff. Really entertaining match. I'm surprised how lovely the football was given how hard the players went in. The modern game could learn a bit from this. And finally, absolutely stunning right hook from Gilesy. Was was Keegan thinking? He'd just clobbered Billy and then went looking for  someone else to antagonise. Picked the wrong man 😅

When English football was English football!

the exorcist x now

Yes all British players, don't see that anymore 😮

Does anyone know why both teams started with a number 12?

Poor decision to choose Harvey as 6th. kicker.  silly.

The game didnt start well ,that Smith tackle.

And this was meant to be a friendly! Lol

Only a booking for a right hook ??!! 😅

Keegan shouldn’t not have got sent off, Giles should’ve gone..
