(EDIT)
side note: sorry if i don’t reply or interact with some of yall’s comments, sometimes i genuinely just miss them 😭

"Anime is not replication, its translation, and translation always involves interpretation"
🗣🔥🔥

s1 is great battle shounen but s2 onwards is just cinema after cinema

I like how the animators and the original author (Gege Akutami) flirt with each other; Gege likes the adaptations so much that he even took scenes from the anime and inserted them into the manga! And he himself is surprised (not in a bad way) when they animate a power doing different stuff from the manga!

I didn't know that S2 was Gosso's directorial debut. The step up from S2 to S3 is huge. S3 is hands down one of my favourite seasons of anime. I never thought it would be but S3 is pure art.

I will die on this hill, I think the best scene throughout the show (in season 3) was when yuji and hakari talked. Something about it felt perfect

bro i deadass thought i was watching some atleast 200k sub ytber but 59 subs and only 933  VIEWS?? this is fucking crazy you are insane, keep at it 😭

Even though I am a manga reader, I am loving this adaptationn Every episode feels like I am watching a new movie. It’s taking full advantage of the medium.

for me JJK is like The Raid: Redemption  of anime, the fight IS the story. some people separate the story from the fight, and that's the wrong way to judge the show.

and yes, im glazing the movie from my country, and i'm proud of it lol

I loved so much how they are handling JJK, it seems like every single animator is having fun with how they want to adapt each episode and it really shows their passion with this project. All the animation techniques, references, sakuga effects and experimentations that they're doing with the animation is insane. I've watched some of the episodes multiple times already and i'm really hoping they continue with this in future seasons of the show

6:39 another thing I like about Mappa is that they are great at making tonal shifts at the drop of the dime

Comprehension curse was transdimensional damn

I 100% agree that JJK is going to stand the test of time, when the anime concludes, people will still be talking about this wonderful series

not many people will see this at first because hidden gems are hard to find

Maybe, just maybe if Berserk had the same treatment. Truly the potential man of anime adaptation

12:02 GLAZING KAGURABACHI IS THE REASON THIS HEART STILL BEATS

This video is amazing, even as a manga reader myself, I’m pleasantly surprised and impressed at the way Mappa has elevated the source material while still respecting Geges vision

12:36 we said it at the same time and I laughed 😂

yea ever since Gosso took over ts show hits different

2:01 thank you for satisfying my addiction
