I was panning around the 109 bridge yesterday out there in the Uwharrie, found a couple small specks. I bought a Keene sluice box before I really read the rules and realized I can't even use the thing on public property, which is ridiculous. I agree with you, using a shovel and a sluice box isn't doing anything different than what is happening naturally from the river or floods. Even people walking through the river while fishing is moving rocks around, that isn't banned though.

Those of us that borderland years ago when it was inexpensive have paid three times the value that we paid for it in taxes.

If you are on your own land they can’t say anything, right? Enjoy watching you do this. GOLD! 🥰

The government does not want us being able to go prospecting because we have
the potential to find wealth that they cannot tax and they hate that…!!!

I know that spot well. Good area...maybe I'll see you out there sometime. Nice job.

I've tried uwharrie a few times. Tried barnes creek and Moccasins creek did the best at low water bridge. But lots of black sands. Best NC spot for me has been Dutch Buffalo Creek.
