It’s crazy that a tweet Gunn made like 15 years ago led to him being the head of DC movies

Ill never understand people hating on Gunn. Having an insanely passionate comic fan headlining a cinematic universe is amazing!

1:44 James Gunn basically admitting to being a fanfic writer in his youth is yet another reason why this man is the perfect fit to head one of these universes

@hippityhoppityw 1 year ago

James seems like he seriously has the best job in the world lol

Name dropping Metal Men in 2024 is how you know he's legit

I remember the dark days when you felt “ashamed” to read comic books. Thank God those days are over

"What's wrong with liking both", no truer words have ever been said, just because someone prefers something over another doesn't mean they have to hate the other thing, it's just today people want to start conflict for no reason, why can't we just love each other?

@J_Tevo 1 year ago (edited)

Well what is he gonna say?
“yeah actually, I preferred the other stuff than the stuff I get paid to oversee now”

0:11 That was a quick no.

That Title is wrong Gunn literally said he's both (Marvel and DC) like me, and he said that he didn't want to take Feige's job not because it's Marvel, but because of "the job description & responsibilities" he even confirmed that he's not the "Feige" of DC, that's Safran's job, Gunn is more focus on the creative side and building the universe. i like the interview, but careful with that title.

As a DC fan who loves James Gunn this made me so happy the first time I heard it because that means his DCU is going to be full of care and genuine heart

@piccoloatburgerking 1 year ago

This really puts in perspective what kind of herculean task Feige has been undertaking because he's managing both creative and business sides at the same time, no wonder MCU has been struggling as of late, one man can't do all that forever.

@claytonandres1194 1 year ago

I’m really excited for the ideas he’s had so far

@zipblockarchives900 1 year ago

James is more in line with Bruce Timm or Dave Filoni over at Star Wars. James likes creating stories rather than being a businessman.

2:15 same here Gunn

@laserbeamlightning 1 year ago

I think Kevin needs someone to co lead with him the same way. Kevin doing both now on so many projects has been the bane of phase 4 and 5

“I equally love DC and Marvel comic books”

@Deadwolf27 1 year ago

I'll never understand the mentality of not being both. I guess I could understand how one might be more appealing than the other but they both have different approaches that make them unique from one another and make them awesome. At they're best they're usually just doing their own thing regardless of what the competition is doing. Why pick one great thing when you can just have two great things?

People always thought I was crazy for liking DC over Marvel because the big DC films were never as well received, but there has always been way more DC content out there than just their live-action movies. I grew up watching the animated Justice League and Teen Titan Shows, I played the Justice League video game to the PSP and the Injustice fighting games. I also watched the DC animated films. I just love the DC super heroes. They always just spoke to me more. For some context, I’m 30 years old
