The way everyone in this show GASLIT Topanga into feeling bad for putting up her boundaries was diabolical

The show really tried to gaslight us into believing that Cory and Topanga had the perfect relationship, when Shawn and Angela actually communicated with each other, and seemed to compromise more. I'll be forever salty that the sequel series split them up, and had Angela being unfavourably compared to a hurricane, all so that Shawn could end up with Maya's mum.

That one scene in college when Cory and Topanga are broken up and when he see Shawn and Angela making out, he demands for Topanga to do the same. She refuses so he grabs her by the face and tries to force a kiss on her so she reacts by pushing him on the floor in defense. Then he’s all like “you’ve hurt me for the last time” and sulks off…….Yeah that scene did not age well.

Let’s not forget him going off on his parents for not cosigning on a house after he got married, him yelling and screaming at Topanga for having a better job than him while they were in college AND him getting pissed at Shawn and Angela for having a nice apartment to live in while he and topanga had to live in a dump. Side note: Cory could NEVER fill the shoes of George Alexander Feeny.

Fantasizing alt universe where Topanga goes to Yale, and Shawn becomes successful photographer and lives happily ever after with Angela.

Eric deserved better as a character too. By the last couple seasons he was a depressed class clown.

It’s telling every man wanted Topanga growing up and not a single woman wanted Corey.

Cory Matthews had to have written this show himself because Topanga would’ve dumped his ass so hard if it was written by anyone else

“What’s more important than me and you? Except me.” So he just said the quiet part out loud?

they shoulda called this show "Boy Gaslights World"

I hated how GMW tried to make it seem like Cory was just like Feeny as a teacher. Like yes, Feeny played favorites with the main cast sometimes, but it was never as blatant. Feeny also taught Cory and his friends actual lessons, like school related lessons, he never preached heavy handed morals or religion at them. He wanted them to make their own choices, not force what HE thought down their throats. Cory also was nowhere near as wise or worldly as Feeny was. Like Cory went straight from Philly to New York and pretty much never went anywhere else his entire life, Feeny was in the Navy and you could tell he was well traveled.

I've never watched boy meets world but my jaw dropped again and again after every single new moment people thought this was a perfect relationship??????? someone telling their ex "we're meant to be you just don't realize it yet" is CRAZY WORK

I am a certified Cory HATER. I hate that they broke to Shawn and Angela when Cory & Topanga were right there. She deserved so much better.

While I can understand Cory being an immature kid who messes up and makes mistakes in the first few seasons, it got less understandable once he was older, married and in college. They even lampshaded this with the "Kid Gets Accquainted with the Universe" parody, where the Cory expy questions "How can I learn the same lessons every week, and still be so stupid?!"

Also Cory was bad BEFORE the cheating. He got a stank attitude after Topanga’s makeover. Then when the Topanga and Angela wanted to go out dancing after work, Cory and Sean refused. So the girls went with their male coworkers instead. And Cory threw a fit. He was always anxious about Topanga cheating when she was the most loyal partner.

Hear me out, Boy Meets World is not about Cory it’s actually about Shawn and how he grew and became a better person while growing up in a harsh home environment. Every episode without him and/or focuses on Cory is just filler.

30:53 he's not even prioritizing their relationship, he's prioritizing himself and ignoring how she feels. he just wants her to play her little part and do whatever he says. that's not a relationship

Cory Matthews really is the ULTIMATE gaslighter fr, I would hate talking to someone like that. Dare I say, he began therapy talk. He makes everything sound all profound and great, knowing that he's just experiencing the consequences of his own actions

I am going to be honest i do not know how no one ended up punching cory in that hospital. like that is just psychopathic levels of not caring about anyone but yourself and then just bucket loads of trying to guilt and manipulate his girlfriend on top of that. just genuinely inhuman levels of selfishness and lack of empathy there like someone caring about their mother and a baby that much is a gigantic red flag

Cory Matthews is the original Greg Heffley

Corey is a terrible husband. He mocked Topanga’s cooking despite the fact that she’s not only working her ass off at a demanding job but also has to do all the cooking, all the cleaning and the grocery shopping. Corey, whose job is much less demanding, doesn’t lift a finger to help out around the apartment once.
