They were the days. Now it wound be: parents visit son is first crappy flat. Where he’s been living for 15 years with two housemates. Despite having a PhD and 8 page CV. Because he can’t afford anything else. He asks them if he can move back in with them, because he’s struggling to cover the recent rent increase. This programme represents a much happier time for the UK, when things still made sense.

This is why I love British humor I didn't see that coming at the end 😂😂😂

This is exactly how first apartments look like when you start from the bottom 😂😂😂😂

I remember my mom’s exact words the first time I moved out and she saw the apartment. “It’s what I expected”. Those words hurt

Always liked the way brits call TV "the telly", it sounds it's part of the family 😂

Nick was the best. My Family wasn't as good after he left.

I'm from Hungary. I lived in England when My family was on tv there. I found it very funny, it exactly has the humour I enjoy. Plus it helped me understand British accent. Unforgettable memories.

Shows how much times have changed that 20 years ago a flat like that was seen as a joke yet today living like that is a dream to many

Honestly, when I went flat hunting my parents insisted on coming. Especially my mum. She refused to let me stay somewhere that didn't meet her standards and if I couldn't afford it, she'd help cover some of the extra costs.

I get angry at my parents for many things and after seeing some of the places my mates did or currently still live. I am so grateful to them for this one thing they did do.

The chemistry between Robert Lindsay, Zoe Wannamaker & Kris Marshall was incredible on set!! I was lucky to go to many recordings of My Family at Pinewood Studios during the first 3 series & it was a lot of fun being in that audience watching them perform 🎭
