Apparently there’s a small section where YouTube muted some licensed music so if the sound cuts out briefly, that’s why.

As a Christian myself, When hearing Dwight took two years to help his brother get ahead. Then he got into West Point free of charge is nothing but a blessing and reward that’s awesome.

To this day I go back and forth on what Eisenhower’s biggest accomplishment was, because truly I think he’s one of the most accomplished humans in history.

My grandparents lived in Denison, TX just acoss the railroad tracks from the Eisenhowers. When Ike was elected president, my grandmother laughingly said that wasn't bad for a guy who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks in Denison. 😄

I started laughing so much when you skipped the manscaped ad, then all you hear is “let’s get ready for war.” 🤣

I have heard of the closeness between Eisenhower and Zhukov, with a comment stating that their friendship transcends the political and ideological boundaries that the two legendary military commanders lie and was a personal and close one. One can only imagine of what the world would be if post Stalin it was Zhukov who was in power instead of Khrushchev .

I feel like Eisenhower was to Roosevelt what Grant was to Lincoln. The parallels are uncanny… Both were amazing generals to extraordinary leaders who then went on to become Presidents themselves.

Hey Chris! Just wanted to tell you I included you in a section of my career research paper due to you being a huge part of my love for history. I'm currently a student at Malone University majoring in Integrated Social Studies! You're awesome dude.

7:45 Reminds me of The Great Gatsby where being an officer during WW1 allowed him to earn the prestige he wasn't born with

Hey Chris if you plan on reacting to new creators give them an Email requesting you react to that video/content so we don't have another Cpg grey incident. I love this channel it would suck for it to go under.

Hey Chris, I am a huge fan of your videos and this one was awesome. I just wanted to point out a slight correction, Grant actually did cast a presidential vote before becoming president. Surprisingly, his first Presidential vote was for James Buchanan. He probably regretted that one lol. Thanks again for the content!

This is one of your best videos. I remember my father speaking of what a great man Ike was. Thanks for this narrative of Ike’s life. We all must remember he was a man of his times. It would not have been easy to become involved in conflicts in the 50s. People were exhausted with war. The civil rights movement was in its infancy and he did the best a man of his generation could do. Nuance is necessary when dealing with historical figures. Ike was a good man. I hope I can be remembered as one

As a English learner, the speech before D day that you've mentioned is just beautiful.
Also thank you for bringing me all these high quality history knowledge. You literally make me addicted to history!

Out of curiosity I looked up the graduating class at West Point of 1915 (the year Eisenhower graduated). They were known as the “class the stars fell on” because 36% of them - including the dude who ranked first - went on to become Generals.

“now a word from our sponsor”literally the next second “WAAARRRR”

44:15 not only did he see his grandson get married but he also got to see his VP become president as well

Everyone should read "Ike's Gamble" by Michael Scott Doran. He makes a very persuasive argument that Eisenhower basically got Suez completely wrong.

Wow, to hear that he took 2 years of his life (let alone being young) to help his brother succeed tells you what kind of man he really was deep down

I'm not an expert or anything on history but I've always loved learning about it and this channel has been very helpful and informative.  I really wish we had more creators and people in general in this world like yourself.  Must be our common Midwestern values or something but this has quickly become one of my favorite channels.  Thanks for all the content and work you put in.  It has been a blast and I plan to continue watching as long as I can.  Your son seems like he's gonna be a history guy too when he's older!  So cool.  Love the channel,  love your vibe,  keep it up man.  God bless!

You should do more from Biographics. They have Patton, Lincoln, Grant and a slew of others that you have particular knowledge about. It would be great to hear your insights on the others as well.
