The books that are banned for anti-authoritarian themes, criticisms of religion and/or politics really says a lot about the kind of people who want them banned

man silver certificates can be sold to collectors for so much money now

4:12 Filipino viewer here! Looked into it, looks like it’s from a local church in Cebu. As a practicing Catholic, it seems kinda silly to read about, as seeing Science (!) to be something from the Devil is confusing and amusing. It also outlines Philippine customs in the New Year, namely wearing polka dots, carrying coins in the pockets, and serving 12 round fruits at the table to bring in luck. Personally thinking it’s a stricter denomination of Christian; never seen those things called out in any of my Catholic Churches before.

Catholic here. When it comes to the confession paper it’s not out of the ordinary for a person to make a list in order to be as honest as possible

So, sheep intestines were used as sausage skins for all sorts of sausages 😅

1:15 The saying that’s printed on all money nowadays that says “In God We Trust” wasn’t added until around 1954 by President Eisenhower. This fact also applies to in the pledge of allegiance with the line “Under God”. The “God” part is a fairly recent standard. ^^

Damien + Mildly Interesting might be my favorite Emkay genre

5:50 Mormons ore on this list under cults

Firefighter: "Wow. What a beautiful sunset."

On the sins list yoga was classified as a cult 😂😂😂

The Chick-fil-A sandwich bring separate is actually for a long distance delivery. ESPECIALLY during hotter seasons/weather, the grilled chicken actually gives off a LOT of oils and greasiness, making the bun soggy if not a mush.

There has been complaints for it before, so online orders through a door dash or similar system is NOTED as coming through such. So they'll cook what they need to, and package it as such. It actually keeps the chicken warmer too, crazy enough.

And then you just flip the container contents on the bottom bun, place top bun, and it's like you got it fresh from the restaurant.

I've seen this with a sandwich from Wendy's, which is about 20 minute drive to, and I've got it myself and brought home just for the bun to be spongy.

Cousin did door dash for it one day, came like that, and it actually worked wonders. I actually ask them to do that on days I get it myself now like after work. 😂

27:54 its Dutch, it means "Attention, only enter when the light is green"

9:55 the messed up part is it was decent (for the time) at preventing STIs but because of the semi permeable nature you could still get pregnant. And unlike modern condoms which are tossed, these were washed and reused. They were attached with a piece of twine tied around the base.
Edited:typos

OOPS! ALL DAMIEN!? LETS GOOOO

6:20 they do that for gluten-free. So that it protects the bun from contamination

13:50 mumbo jumbo mentioned

In Japan, probably Asia in general knowing that despite some cultural differences there are norms which are pervasive across multiple countries, people LOVE novels but they also don't love bulky books because a lot of the time they will take their current novel with them on public transit (which is much more reliable and prominent and affordable and safe than say in the US) and they don't want to have to lug big bulky books around. The size of a manga volume is a pretty standard size also for a novel (which might be a little thicker but not by much) because it's easily put in a school bag, briefcase, medium purse, etc. which makes it friendly to commuters. Japanese schools even break their text books down a lot of the time into multi-volume sets and even non-hardcover versions so that they are easier for students to deal with. So, it's just the culture over in Japan (if not Asia in general) that it is preferred that books be more easily transportable and of a size format that fits easier in the sorts of everyday use bags that people might carry.

I thought it said Mildly Infuriating I got so confused

1:47:51 so my husband actually has this mutation. He has brown hair but his beard when grown is red. Funnily enough our son has red hair
