I was the mailman in Canton for several years. Walked up it pretty much everyday. It's so much steeper than you think. I've seen at least 5 cars blow transmission on this very hill.

First time watching one of his videos.
I LOVE this. No AI narration, and no fake unrelated images. I like his style, for sure. I hit subscribe.

If I remember correctly, tanks are only rated to deal with a 30° grade, and no more.
A tank has enough power to go up a 90° grade, but it can't, because its tracks lose traction at any angle greater than 30°.

I was riding with a friend who was born and raised in San Francisco. We drove up Tulip street. They stopped three back at a light. I curled up forwards as far as seatbelt allowed. I swore we were going to tip backwards!

I’m from Florida and I remember the first time I drove through San Francisco I turned on to a street that seemed to me like it was going up at a 45 degree angle. There were stop lights and when I would release the brake to press on the accelerator the car would start rolling backwards.

Tourists to Baldwin Street Dunedin New Zealand need to remember that the properties beside the road are peoples' private property. Stepping off the sidewalk/footpath/whatever you want to call it is straying into someone's home! Please don't do this. Stay on the road and footpath unless directly invited by a resident. Just as you would expect outsiders to stay out of your yard at home. Unfortunately this IS a problem for residents, and tourists often feel like they can just wander about freely peering into people's private lives.

Very Impressed with the spot on Welsh pronunciation. It's refreshing to here someone who has take time to learn how to say something in a different language. 😊

I’ve been to 6 of these places. I lived in Pittsburgh and have driven Canton Ave before. Scariest thing I’ve ever done!

Talk about a shock, so used to driving in houston, a perfectly flat city.

I visited Los Angeles a few years back, got an airbnb in Elysian Heights, there was only way to get to the place I rented, one of the steepest roads i had ever seen, the gas was all the way down to the floor, barely doing 30mph, made a few turns here and there that gave me a chance to breathe again, i thought the way up was scary, talk about going down, thru a very narrow road, i didnt dare have a single drink knowing i had to go up that road my entire trip.

I do miss the beautiful hills and breat taking backdrops.

Here's a tip, NEVER rely just on the brakes when going down a steep decline always use engine brake at the same time.

My worst nightmare, literally. I would dream of this, and also the car driving up a building, and being a kid in the back of a station wagon what that back gate of the car would come open. I'd be hanging on for dear life. 60 years old and I still can't drive up a steep road without clenching and praying🙏🏼

When he said you can be the best at something and still lose on a technicality I instantly thought of Ken Miles....that statement is so befitting to what he went thru at LeMans

I live in the UK and have driven Hard knock pass multiple times when visiting family. You described it perfectly. There are places where the road is so narrow that if a car comes the other way, your in real trouble. They either have to stop on a ridiculously steep downhill where you have to press as hard as you can on the break pedal to stop the car, or the person coming up the hill stops and then cant get traction to move off again. When im driving up it, I just hope nobody comes the other way.
