you know what, 72 quid a night, a pub below, fair play Spoons.  Friendly staff, nice looking room.  May have swayed my impression of a room in Spoons.

Carpets found in wetherspoons are all individually designed for each pub and part hand made by the famous Axminster carpet makers.
There even a carpet appreciation group, and a book documenting all the designs.When it comes to the drinks 1.29 for a pint of bitter that was about the price in late 80s eariy 90s. I like the erdinger wheat beer they do, top quality brewed under the Reinheitsgebot(purity law started 1516) in bavaria, pretty much the most expensive half litre bottle in the place, but always the best price locally, I imagine if the UK was ran with the same innovation and decisive professionalism as wetherspoons 800 ish pubs we might not be in such a mess.

Everything is done properly at Wetherspoons. The lines are regularly cleaned, the Kitchen is cleaned to high standards day and night.We also have regular Audits. Everyone  works so hard  on skeleton staff so as to keep the prices cheap.

Have to say well done Spoons, not everyday someone checks in with a UV and does the full test shopper experience

Called in for a pint in a Spoons in Sheffield.  Needed to relieve myself, saw some stairs and naturally I walked up them to find the gents. Got to the top, no toilets, just a "staff only" marked door. Went and asked at the bar where the toilets were and was told they're downstairs. My flabbers were well and truly ghastered. Same at a Spoons in Leeds.

Nice room, lovely staff, food looked good and a great price for the night. I noticed when you were talking to the staff member about checkout, there was even a wheelchair evacuation notice, I haven't even had that at posh hotels.

I used to work for Wetherspoons in the bar, kitchen and finally hotel.  And tbh they do what you expect from a hotel and try and do it well.  They have a cleaning schedule that actually works and should be used in all chain hotels and the food and beer is cheap but decent quality for what it is.

The Reason it is called weatherspoons aswell was cause the guy that owns the company his teacher was called: Mr.Weatherspoon at school. and he told him that he would never aspire to be anything. so when the little boy got his own first pub.  He Called it Weatherspoons. and then vouched that he would make 1 in everytime town to remind his teacher what he become.

I booked my elderly parents into one of their hotels a couple of years ago. Have to say, they were delighted with it. Mum wasn’t overly excited about breakfast in the pub but it wasn’t the end of the world. Their evening meals passed my dads test and that takes some doing 😂
