Bro watched McDavid maneuver the puck through like 30 guys and backhand it into the net flawlessly talkin about how lucky he is lol

he basically does this every game, but good defensive teams can at least limit his chances

This is why his nickname is "McJesus." The announcer gets halfway through his name and then McDavid does something UNREAL..."Picking up the puck, it's Mc-JESUS, what was that?"  --  miault.

Mcdavid is the most skilled hockey player in the history of the NHL. The Oilers lost the finals 2 years in a row because the panthers are a incredibly well built team. also basically had double coverage on mcdavid every single game. I would argue that there is no player in any other sport that could be an accurate comparison to Mcdavid in hockey, he's just that much better than everyone else in the NHL.

as an insane hockey and oilers fan, the way you talked about hockey terms and such throughout the whole video makes me wanna cry

There's a reason we call him Mcjesus, he's Deadass in a league of his own, no one's even close bruh

One thing about hockey that will look very strange to you if you aren't familiar with it is the ice time and style of substitutions. Each player except the goalie plays an average of 45 seconds at a time. The Google AI just told me (so I could be wrong) that mcdavid averaged 22:02 minutes of play time in a 60-minute game during the 2024/2025 season. So when you ask why a team can have mcdavid and still not win every game, at least part of the answer is that no single player, including mcdavid, is skating a full 60 minutes.

legit generational talent. Once a decade does a guy like this come along.  Next level talent, and he is basically universally accepted as the worlds best hockey player currently.

what you don't realize about #2 is that it's his first game back from a serious injury - a broken clavicle - he'd been out months are there was real concern he wasn't going to be the same. That goal is so much more impressive when you know the backstory.

What most people don’t understand is that it is just like any other sport. These are just the top teir best of the best in the NHL.
All are insanely talented.
It’s not luck, it’s years and years of training.

The number two clip was his first game off an injury

3:50 if they let him have the space to pick up speed then ya

Connor McDavid = PURE skill and brains!!

At full speed, he's as fast as Usain Bolt when he was winning Olympic golds. And that's official.

The second these guys said "ice skate"… I knew this video was gonna be good 😂

Mc David has been in the nhl since 2015

He's always been in his prime it will never go away

McDavid is the fastest skater in the NHL while carrying the puck.....and he has the best hands in the NHL.  These are very special goals from his career but when you see him turn on the switch and skate thru three opponents, keep in mind those are some of the best defenders on the planet.

I play hockey and basketball so let me break this down. In basketball, you’re used to a team making a basket half the time versus in hockey it’s much more rare because goalies on average save 9/10 shots. On average there’s 20-40 shots a game so the score of most hockey games is 2-3,4-2,4-3, 1-2. The difference in defense between the two sports is that in basketball, you can score from anywhere and as a defenseman, you’re fixed in your movement. In hockey as a defenseman, you’re not fixed because you can glide backwards and you also don’t need to worry about the player scoring from shooting in the perimeter. As a defenseman in hockey, you more so worry about not letting them get too close where they can more easily shoot and score so you somewhat defend middle ground while also gliding backwards at a fast enough speed incase the attacker like a Connor mcdavid doesn’t get behind you like he does in all of these. I’d guess like 8/10 times, the attacker fails to create and get off a creative move/shot. That is just for 1 on 1 scenarios. It’s a team sport. There is no score and the other team get’s the puck like in basketball. In hockey, if the other team has possession of the puck, you, the other team needs to create a turnover. That’s where the physicality comes into play. That’s part of the reason why, in hockey, it’s such a team sport. You can have the best player in the world, but if the other team is possessing the puck better than you (working like a team by passing it and creating opportunities) the other team is going to win. Mcdavid is covering 1/5 guys defensively like the other 4 guys on his line, so regardless if you’re the best player out of the 2 teams, it doesn’t matter because your team can still be weaker. The other thing is that the panthers in the Stanley cup have one of if not the best goalie in the league meaning he’s saving more than 9/10 shots. Let’a go with a hypothetical where mcdavid scores a crazy 3 goals a game (not possible/extremely unlikely), if mcdavids goalie is letting in 4+ goals a game, it doesn’t matter, mcdavid is still losing games. So even if the offense is slightly more lethal because mcdavid is on your team, if their goalie is saving everything it doesn’t really matter. Goalies are generally more statistically base similarly to shooting percentage and have the ability to catch fire more easily like for example, a Steph curry on a heater. With players in the nhl, it doesn’t really work that way. It’s all about your team possessing and trying to create opportunities offensively where the goalie has less control over the game. Mcdavid is the one of the best in creating chances but it doesn’t matter if 70% of the game you’re playing defense leading to more fatigue, and also shooting on a harder to score and create chances on goalie. Mcdavid has many more highlights like these with no goals, similar to nba with crossovers with no finish.
