Hockey Safe? no Fun? hell yeah

European football players pretend they're injured. Hockey players pretend they're not.

I grew up playing hockey in Maine, when someone gets hit hard enough to send their equipment flying we call that a "yard sale"

hey man...Canadian here and you are seeing why hockey is the  greatest of them all....not only for ths the hits but there is so much more to the game...the skating, stickhandling skills, and ply making are on another fast speed level that no other sport comes close too.

1980’a NHL hits and bench clearing brawls. Hours and hours and hours of footage. Bros just absolutely demolishing the crap out of each other.

Lindros getting knocked unconscious repeatedly by hits to the head (primarily Scott Stevens) and having to retire due to concussions is one of the main reasons they changed the rules to disallow hits where the primary point of contact was the head.  Also Paul Kariya, another star, got his career cut short because of head-hits/concussions.
There was also a lawsuit by former players (that was settled by the league) that the league and teams didn't protect the players from concussions.  Players were told to 'shake it off' and get back out there after a big hit.
now there's a neutral concussion-spotter at each game that pulls any player from the game who might have suffered a concussion.  They can't return until they pass a thorough concussion evaluation by a doctor.
edit: you saw one of the hits on Kariya soon after the Lindros/Stevens one.

Oh my god I’m Canadian and I love how people from all over the world reacts to our international sport 😂

Most of the hits in this video are legal and clean. The skater that has the puck is fair game to be checked by a body hit/block.
If you hit or block a player that doesn't have the puck, that's an Interference penalty and you go to the box for 2 mins.
if the player doing the checking leads with an elbow or targets the opponents head instead of their body, those are also penalties that you sit in the box for 2 mins or more.
Another possible penalty from checking/hitting is Boarding.
That's where the player being hit is forced into the boards in such a way that they can't protect themselves, like being hit from behind or blindsided.
So much more to this sport thou, you need to check out videos of Great Goals and Saves. Cheers!

Hockey is the only sport that you run the risk of getting your throat cut wide open. Its the most dangerous game but its also the most fun and best game as well

If memory serves, there was a player who once got hit so hard that his heart stopped. He was resuscitated on the bench and asked if he could go back in.

Sometimes you see a player reach for the sky after they get trucked like that and they’re on their backs.
That’s a pretty clear sign of a nasty concussion.

You have no idea how happy it made me to hear you use the words "sin bin"🤣🤣🤣

Look up Jordan tootoo, little native was a beast for his height, beat up everyone he fought 😂😂

If you wanna see some more stuff, watch 14 minutes of angry goalies!

In the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto there is an amazing collection of historical arms and armour. In a corner of the gallery, in the modern evolution context are two full kits of hockey equipment. For good reason. It may not be steel, but its most definitely armour. As someone who played awhile I can assure you we push our kit, and our bodies, to their limits.

I laughed so hard at many of your reactions. I shared this video. Well done. 😂

That fucking hit on Lindros right as you started your intro... That hit is famous.  Effectively ended Lindros's career.  He played after that, was never quite the same, and deteriorated rapidly because the NHL basically pretended concussions didn't exist at that time.  Gretzky and McDavid don't hit.  They're pure skill.  As far as the Scott Stevens hits... they were clean by the rules of the time.  None of them are anymore.  Headshots, jumping into the hit, blindside hits - they're all illegal under current rules. Under the rules of his era, however, Stevens was an absolute monster.

Just discovered your hockey reactions, subscribed and I’m going through them. Happy Canadian 🇨🇦 right here! Keep the hockey vids coming!!

Gretzky and MacDavid don't get a whole lot of physically tough situations, you won't see them in this sort of video ;)
Look up "craziest goals" or "setups" or something along those lines and you'll see the real playmakers.

6:10 Rick was the old Buffalo Sabres announcer. He called those hits so well
