Original owner here...Just wanted to publicly thank Tim for coming through at the end of a very expansive and painful situation. Its sucks to have something like this happen but it was a risk I was willing to take. Tim sent out one of his personal cymbals as a replacement to ease the pain a bit and I'm very thankful for this kind gesture. I would also like to thank the original cymbal smith for personally reaching out to me today to understand why I had Tim attempt the mod in the first place and to hopefully make the situation right considering the circumstances. Sorry you went through that heat treated nightmare.  You are an extremely up right person and company to give the customer one of your custom made beautiful cymbals! This cymbal was actually on a right track to sound good. Cutting 500g really made it sound so much better.

Makes perfect sence that heat treating a cymbal will make it brittle.  I know you will make it right for the customer Tim!  Great job!

The 30th anniversary 24" Istanbul is amazing, but this ride is great too.

Tim, another thing you do that some independent cymbalsmiths do not, is that you slways lay into your cymbals when doing a demo. You play them in a real world scenario style. Kudos and you definitely saved this one. I hope the owner is very pleased!!

Wow I had a couple of saludas that sounded like this. I complained and they kind of just told me to kick rocks. The 17 inch crashes they made me were amazing but the larger cymbals had this very loud brash sound.

Place a chain across the top of it and you have a good "trash" cymbal.

It sounded great after you cut it.  What a bummer that it cracked.  But kudos to you for taking care of the customer.  I’d love to hear/see you build one of those from scratch.
