It is so cool that they welcome you in, instead of perceiving you as a threat. So cool all around. I visited sabian 20 years ago and loved the whole vibe, and the beautiful Meductic area and the St John River.

Started with Sabian 40 years ago, and still play mostly them today. Glad they were so welcoming to a guy with a bag of rice, a donkey, and a sheep shed making cymbals.

Amazing Video! Most underrated yt channel imo

Gotta say, this is the coolest cymbal video I've seen in an age. The world of drums is big to us but maybe small in the world, and cymbals even smaller. So indie folks like you talking to major commercial folks like Sabian is pretty damn cool. I have to imagine Sabian has learned a few things since 1981, and I imagine you've had some unique takes on production of a cymbal in your own right. As a newly minted Canadian (born in US, just got my Canadian citizenship) I could not be more proud that these instruments are made in a small town in Canada. With guys that look like some of my cousins in Saskatchewan that hunt, and fish, and hell yea, know how to hammer a profile into a blank and hammer a bell into shape. I love it. Well done sir

I hope you get to do more of these tours with other manufacturers. This was more enjoyable than seeing any professional drummer tour a cymbal factory.
Thank you for putting this together. Sabian somehow gets even more of my respect now.

Sabian will forever be my favorite cymbal brand, what a cool video this is! Thank you for sharing!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!! 🎉 I’ve been a Sabian fan for nearing 30 years. I’m so jealous you got to meet the legends behind the scenes. This only solidifies why I’ll continue using Sabian until I die. The innovation & craftsmanship, just like yourself, simply doesn’t get any better! ✨ As a cymbalholic myself, I’ve owned & tested nearly 1,000 cymbals in my lifetime from all the top brands & I always go right back to Sabian. If I ever start doing more jazz, I’ll certainly find you & get something you’ve created. Nothing but love & respect for what you do brotha! Keep up the superb work & NEVER STOP DRUMMING!!! 💪 🥁

Been there  was the  best visite  ever...

This is amazing! I love how open they are to you. You must have taught them so much! I'll never forget when I heard a drummer playing an early HH Heavy Ride at a restaurant jazz gig almost 20 years ago. That cymbal had such a rich sound and sounded amazing at a low volume. I'm generally not a big fan of Sabian's sounds, but that one convinced me that they can do excellent work. You made some beautiful cymbals there!

What a special treat!
Thank you for sharing your tour experience. 💜

I mean what other company would invite an independent boutique maker in their shop for 3 days and just play around? Very cool man. Absolutely love it.

Lovely to see this sort of mutual appreciation and friendship among competitors.  Yes, competitors, but anything but besides. You mentioned Old K’s a couple of times but surely old S’s are a thing by now. ❤

Sabian cymbals are great, are almost bulletproof + were still affordable when i couldn't afford much of any drum gear.

Pretty great that Sabian is cool enough to let an indie cymbalsmith into the factory as well as selling you blanks.  Not worrying about any "trade secrets" because of course, they realize that the trade secret is skill of the hands and ears of the smith.
And from what I've seen of these folks online in various videos, they seem like they're nothing less than really great folks.
And wow man, seeing that gent turn that into a chinese cymbal just blew my mind.  Because, of course, I've never considered how a china was made....in my mind that was a completely separate process from start to finish.

I look forward to hearing more of the "Saberie" cymbals in a later vid.

Very cool and informative! Thanks Tim!

You are great, really top notch. I really miss Lance Capeau though.

They make great cymbals.

Hard to describe how coooool this is! You deserve it so much, Tim!❤

Thank you for the look "back stage!"  I've got two 1980s HH crashes (18") that are my go-to orchestral suspended cymbals (especially the 18" "Extra Thin").

This is a very cool video. A very gutsy move by Sabian.

Even though I own less Sabian cymbals than other brands and sets, frim the ones I have, and what I have seen in almost 40 years,  QUALITY WISE as in durability, finish, consistency, Sabian is at the very top.

They just feel solid.

But I am NOT surprised… Sabian has a long history of gutsy moves… congrats
