You 2 should do a Tank Talk live one evening.

You guys should do an episode on 10 more fish every fish keeper should keep at-least once.

Great video Detroit  John that tank behind u looks great😊

Yep I quarantine plants. I have assassin snails for ramshorn but not in my mystery snail tank

Snorkeling in lake Malawi ✅ 💯 I love his videos 👍

I thought you guys were the same person 😅 until this video 😂😂

I have had aquariums for over 45 years and never had black beard algae but I did get green hair algae.  It went away over time but I used an old tooth brush and got rid of most of it. I hope I never get black beard algae.

If I had to gravel vac in this day and age I'd quit the hobby 😂

John being an Australian here in Australia don't worry if you come here you will have action

Thanks for the African Cichlid Hub reference! Great videos!

I love snails, land and water.
Ramshorns snails are my favorite aquatic snail.
Bladder snails are highly useful... as long as you have the amount you want to have.
Right now, I'm dealing with 1 bladder snail that has turned into probably 200 snails in a small jar and tons of more egg clusters ready to hatch and more eggs being laid routinely.

Thumbs up before I watch the video just because of the topic.

Honestly for BBA I found reducing phosphates was the biggest deal

Copper treatments can also bind to aragonite sand, coral and shells. Which can create a reservoir of copper that can potentially cause toxicity later if conditions change. Copper ideally should always be given in a quarantine tank.

I got planaria from plants I got a my local pet store. I didn't notice it at first. Then the number of shrimp in my tank started decreasing. Fendendazol killed the but it took a toll on my shrimp too. You can get little glass traps for planeria. It doesn't clear them from your tank but it can help you know you have them before they get established.

I fixed hydra in my neocaridina tank by adding ghost shrimp to eat it. I used southeastern ghost shrimp I caught from a pond here in Texas.

Back in hobby two years and got BB algae in first tank on a piece of Cholla Wood.  I had Guppies, probably a Mystery Snail in there and the BB algae was growing and swaying the the flow.  When I received my first order of 2 RABBIT SNAILS, I watched them tackle the BB algae and never saw it again.  Rabbit Snails since in other tank, I have Cholla Wood in many tanks, don't know where that piece is but have NEVER seen BB algae again.  I got lucky 🙂

I got rid of BBA.  It took CO2,  fast growing plants, and appropriate light.  I use CO2 not for fancy stuff.  I use it in every tank at low levels as an anti-algae mechanism.  That gives me zero nitrate = zero algae. I run 1 inch stratum, bagged, under 1 inch sand.  Zero water changes, internal canister filters.  I get the kh/gh set, then top off every 2-3 days with RO. Beginning of the month I pop off the OASE sponge compartments and rinse in declorinated RO.  Five tanks atm, and used to struggle with BBA, hair, and green algae.

My run rate for CO2 is $32/tank/year.  It's not cheap, but compared to the time, effort, and cost of other measures, it's not bad.

Hi John and Jason yes John its always been a dream of mine Lake Malawi

I've hydra appear on my glass, and I believe the reason was I was feeding too much powdered fry food.  The hydra feasted on those very tiny bits. The hydra  and also an increase in tiny snails are my clue that I need to feed less powder food.
