Ive listened to this song 100s of times and seen the video almost as many times, and it still gets me emotional

We tried to tell yall in the 80's it wasn't devil music....most metal has deep meaning....Johnny got his gun is the movie.

Still can't believe this song didn't win the Grammy.

"He's a product of your profession not mine" heaviest line in the video.

Was laughing out loud when the one guy says at the beginning, “the bass hasn’t even entered yet.” You listen to the entire album and can say that same phrase.. 😂

"Help me mother, I'm having a nightmare and I can't wake up!" I get chills everytime.

When that guy said "the bass hasn't even entered yet" I had a little chuckle

This song is a master piece from start to finish. There is nothing being released today that comes even close to this level of awesomeness

The song which has tricked millions into listening to Thrash Metal. Iconic, timeless, incredible song...

I'm 55 and an ex Australian military man. This song means alot to me. Metal has helped me trough my depression.

Those multi-reactions feel like listening to song for the first time again. As a long time Metallica fan, it's quite amazing.

love the way everyone is like crying in the solo and breakdown and shaq just screams "HOW IS HE DOIN THAT"

@abelstrd 3 years ago

"It's beautifully dark."
That's a perfect description for this song.

One of the greatest pieces of music in human history for sure.

Fun Fact: Metallica actually owns the rights to the movie that they dub in the One music video. The movie is called "Johnny Got His Gun"

It sucks sometimes when you are that "ONE" in a million. The name alone is deeper than hell.

Spoiler alert, Ken Lavigne: the bass never enters.

Brings chills down your spine, huh.
The character in question, compares himself to a child still in a mother's womb.
Without limbs or sight, he is just as powerless.
The only difference except for the constant pain, is that unlike that child, he already lived before.
And now he is back to this. He survived, yet remained trapped with nothing but his mind.
In the end, he managed to transfer the message.
"Kill me".
There is nothing of life that remains. It's over. I, am over.
He is a product of war, and now it's time to end this existence of his.
As the doctor said to the general. "He is a product of your profession, not mine."

As a young man when this was released, all I really paid attention to was what a monstrous jam this was. Now, as an old man, all I notice is the horror and intense isolation of the soldier in the video.
