The sniffer does not suck, it sniffs

I'd add the sniffer having a chance to dig up "treasure/junk" from farmland, like gold/copper nuggets, sherds etc. As an archaeology student thsoe stuff turn up in bagloads in the topsoil.

every update i think “is this the update they add more seeds to the sniffer” so then atleast its got some more variety and would make ppl wanna get all the new flowers instead of just 2

One word: truffles.

Love the idea of a wood type tied to the sniffer. What I'd also like to see is for the sniffer to be able to dig up something alternative to grass and mycelium, like ancient grass or something. That way it would really feel like you are unearthing and preserving an ancient world! It would be kinda like a a new dimension, that instead of being accessed through a portal, you had to build yourself!

I have thought about this matter myself a fair bit.

Torchflowers should definitely produce light and serve as a more subtle decorative light source.

Pitcher pods could have a digestion feature, where they could be feed junk like rotten flesh or spider eyes and slowly convert it into something more useful like slime or leather.

The gingko tree could also be added. It would provide a fire resistant wood variant.

Azalea could get new colour variants like white and red. As far as I have seen, the blossoms come with a large amount of colour variations.

I would also suppose the cyan rose would make a lot of sense to reintroduce this way. They already did something similar with crying obsidian. I am sure older players would appreciate this.

The block travelled idea only makes me think of madman contraptions that launch the sniffer  across blue ice for the required maximum range before depositing them in a small digsite, only to send it back once the system picks up the dug up item.

Sniffer changes would be goated, throw in torch flowers emitting light and mojang would finally do it justice.

i was hoping that instead of golden dandelion to stop grow of mobs there would be new sniffer plant ):

It’s an ambitious suggestion but I want the torch flower and pitcher pods to source to two new dyes only obtained this way: indigo for the pitcher pod and scarlet for the pitcher pod

I've had this idea forever. It seems like a logical extension of the already established sniffer, while also allowing for more sniffer-related features being added in future updates as biomes are changed or added!

i cant find the original post but giving the sniffer plants that create the old dye colors from beta would be so awesome (spring green and rose), maybe with different, more "alien" sounding names like turquoise and fuschia... and also that leaked vine plant that was probably scrapped should absolutely come back as well by the way

It's crazy how easy it is to fix the sniffer because all they have to do is to add like at least 10 new unique plants (preferably based on real world ancient plants and fantasy plants such as flowers, grass, and saplings) and that'd make it less forgettable. They don't need to make a brand new biome for it, just add the raw materials for the biome for us to discover and to build in our world. Also, if I'm not mistaken sniffer can't dig up a grass block that's already dug by it. This should be change by giving each grass block a cool down, maybe like an hour or so, so players don't have to replace the grass blocks

Low-key impressed

I have an idea:
Sniffer can work like a smelling dog
He can show u the direction where is some structures like pillager outpost if u let him sniff illagers banner
And he can show u the direction of some biomes like jungle or dark oak just make him sniffing things related to the biome

What bothers me is how easy it would be. Just give us oldschool red and blue roses and lava lilypads. So many amazing plants could be locked behind the sniffer. But instead they gave us just 2 meh decorative blocks that aren't even good

This video is so professionally made that I had to do a double take when I saw your stats— criminally underrated

I desperately want a full game drop dedicated to qol features and fleshing out the left out parts of previous updates. There's so many little changes that would make the game so much better, just like this one

The golden dandelion should have come from the sniffer

You mentioned the sniffer being able to sniff out the classic rose. Expanding on this, I think it would be amazing if the sniffer could obtain flowers that would allow you to make the classic dye colors, like Spring Green and Ultramarine. I really loved those wool colors, and would love to see them back in the game.
