I loved Pedal jams and dearly miss them.

Ah! Monday and the ”what order should I put ny pedals?” Live show. 😃

Those of us who love this format are most likely album guys n girls. The immediate gratification clan would be into singles.

Only just getting chance to watch this now, but as a medical professional I implore Dan to get his thumb checked at a Minor Injuries Unit if he hasn't already. The scaphoid bone can be damaged in the sort of injury I suspect he has and it carries the blood supply to the thumb. If not spotted in time, it can cause lasting impairment to the whole thumb. Please Dan, get it checked!!

Thanks for all the hours and hard work you guys put into producing your great show for us all educating and reviewing so much gear etc and providing us with so much more knowledge of everything, it’s greatly appreciated.
I actually really love the production issues you sometime have such as no sound at the start of the show, it just shows your human and it’s not just me that has these issues, it’s all of us.
Thanks again love the show, all the best Steve.

For guitar setups particularly, Gerry from Haze Guitars in Republic of Ireland is a fantastic resource. He’s published a bunch of Ebooks on setups for different styles of guitar, and he also has a weekly newsletter on specialist setup topics (refretting, nut filing, straightening necks, etc) that I am a big fan of.

I went from paying for a setup once a year and being terrified of the truss rod to doing it for myself for all the basics pretty much all the time. I doubt I’ll have the guts to refret myself but I suspect I’d be keen to level and recrown at least once I have a jig.

I had a conversation once discussing how the vintage fenders were so much more resonant and I learned a very interesting fact.  Supposedly Leo Fender bought a ton of turn of the 20th Century wood and by the time he was building guitars that wood was already 50 plus years old.  Today's guitars are made with wood that is still green and lifeless.   I thought it was an interest tidbit.

Who are these people who didn’t like pedal jams… frankly the jams bit I was ok without but … That PEDAL show… i just love hearing you guys run through 4 or so pedals.. the pick ‘n mix episodes.  The distorting effect that your influence over the demand for the pedals that sound good in this context is outside TPS’s control.    In TPS I trust to guide me toward additional pedals.  It is for us to work out whether any given pedal is for us but I want to hear you guys play more pedals.. all of them.  Rant not over but typing finished.

With regards to the Klon v the Klon KTR, yes they are different in construction and yes that yields a different sound.  Thru hole components are prone to noise, surface mount components are more isolated just due to their size and the traces are contained.  Both sound amazing.

Regarding vintage vs whatever. If you want a certain guitar, you should play it first, if it's all you dreamed of then get it if you can. Regardless of what's popular, or what other people think.

Congrats on the house move Dan! I know it's stressful but I'm sure it'll be worth it - once you've found the cutlery of course!

The best moving advice I was given was to pack a 'moving box' with essentials such as a few bowls, plates, cutlery, coffee, biscuits, etc. so that we had something quick and easy to get to for the first few days in the new place. I hope you feel settled soon!

Re: Pau Ferro, some interesting bits from Wikipedia: Libidibia ferrea, formerly Caesalpinia ferrea, and commonly known as pau ferro, Jucá, Brazilian ironwood, morado or leopard tree, is a tree found in Brazil and Bolivia.

Its wood is often used for making fingerboards for electric basses and guitars. It has a similar feel and similar tonal attributes to rosewood, but is near 1000 points softer on the janka hardness scale on average or more than all of the commonly traded species of rosewood except for Sisso and Amazonian rosewood. It also ranks lower in density of 5-10lbs per cubic foot compared to common rosewoods (roughly 54lbs/cf compared to 60-66lbs/cf).

You could do a series of short videos on pedal order with each video being about just two effects, like wah/fuzz, reverb/trem, and on

2:06 the audio arrives!

2:10 starts sound 👍🏼

This was awesome!!!!! I got to see a whole episode of TPS all the way through first time. It usually takes me a week to get through an entire episode of QA but I watched the whole thing live so awesome. I am so looking forward to a ordering myself one of your new shirts.

Lots of people record great drums sounds without cutting a hole into the kick drum.  I'd argue that most of the old school music you like, was recorded with a kick drum without a hole.

Inspired by you guys and the hollow body love, I found a super deal on a used Gretsch. Now my favorite guitar!  So versatile!  Thanks guys!

Regarding audio level, this live show is lower than the last one. I brought them both up to compare. Not that they need to be identical every time - that's what volume controls are for.

Know your so appreciated for everything your doing!! I’ve been in a rather traumatic transitionary period in my life so forgive me for not catching the live streams as much as I’d like but thanks for making a place for gear heads to delve headfirst into! You’re doing great work as always keep it up :)
