Sick reaction! I’d love to see you do more horror reactions 🤘

Interesting facts about this movie:

- Apparently when filming scenes toward the beginning of the movie, director Curry Barker filmed two takes of Inde Navarrette, one where she likes Bear and one where she doesn’t, and spliced the two together in the final cut to make it ambiguous. However, both confirmed that she viewed him as a friend, but was open to a relationship if he had been honest.
- The Sarah death was originally WAY more drawn out and graphic at its film festival debut, but it got an NC-17 rating and they had to scale it back for the theatrical release.
- The ending had two parts from the script that were changed due to improvisations by the actors. The first was the Bear scene with the pills. The second was that in the original script, Nikki was supposed to shoot herself, but Inde Navarrette and Curry Barker changed the ending last minute to the one we have now.

If you liked this, I highly recommend Milk and Serial. It’s a YouTube movie done by the same director and the actor for Ian, Cooper Tomlinson. It’s only 62 minutes long as well, so it’s an easy watch. Filmed for a budget of only $800. Crazy what these guys were able to accomplish

Can’t wait to see more from you!

This movie holds a special place in my heart 😢❤

Excellent reaction and excellent summary.  I think you really got the movie.  Looking forward to more reactions from you.

Janey your new short hair is so pretty on you , so tea ❤

I really liked your reaction. Some stuff for those who are obsessed :)
SPOILERS

3:50 The word "Tabi" in Tabi Cat Curiousities (the One Wish Willow company name) is actually a acronym for Curry Barker’s (the director) and Cooper Tomlinson’s (actor who plays Ian) YouTube channel: T.A.B.I = Thats A Bad Idea.
Curry Barker's mom designed the look of the box for the One Wish Willow.
4:01 A questionably shaped candle being put in the bag lol
5:28 Ian talks about there being a gun in the safe where they work (chekhov’s gun) foreshadowing his own death followed by Nikki ripping Ian's hat off after they take shots.
5:40 The Trivia host asks his first question about a blue genie and the answer is Aladdin. The significance is the genie tells aladdin in the movie that you cannot wish for someone to fall in love.
The 4 photos on the mirror behind Nikkis purse foreshadows the friend group relationships and that they die at the end and Nikki lives. You see a better shot of these photos in the beginning of the movie after the scene with the cat.
12:34 Nikki is behind them staring for this entire scene.
13:32 On the left of the computer screen you can see all of Bears past search history.
14:05 The AI picture on the phone during this scene was actually made by a real artist and reads: "I want to wear your skin as a sweater."
17:27 The book she had in her hands in this scene is called "The Art of Seduction." She is also holding it upside down.
21:18 The voice actor on the other line talking to bear in this scene is Curry Barker himself. He wrote, directed and edited the movie.
24:10 Curry Barker's dad wrote this Hansel and Gretel monologue for the film for Nikki to say in this scene. For context: During the call with Ian at the diner, Ian tells Bear that Nikki and Sarah had a conversation about Bear, saying Nikki thinks of Bear as a brother
Another cool thing i noticed in this scene is in the beginning of the jenga game one of Ian's friends pulls a block and he reads it and it says something like 'drink when i do for the next 3 rounds'. He picks Ian to be the one to drink and says "You're going down with the ship." Foreshadowing Ians death again because all Ian did up to this point is poke holes in Bear and Nikki's... "relationship."
25:50 In the scene before this when they are out front of the hospital the nurse won't treat Nikki becuase as you can see in the film, when Bear opens the car door Nikki is shaking her head no meaning she does not want to go. They cannot force Nikki to go in.
26:40 Nikki says "Rail me. Rail my guts."
28:18 Bear drugs Nikki with sleeping pills allowing the real Nikki to have a conversation with Bear while Wish Nikki sleeps. Bear talks about having sleeping pills in his pocket in the car scene with Sarah. Inde talks about this in an interview so no, this is not an opinion.
35:35 Nikki has drawn Sarah's tattoos on herself, wears Sarah's clothes and hits her head with a brick to look more like Sarah.
36:31 ok ty

This movie went hard

8:24 Nikki sounded like Jennifer Lawrence right there with her laugh

Obsession is definitely gonna win all 15 Oscar nominations including best supporting actress best film editing best film screenplay best director best actress in a leading role inde & last but not least best picture.

I love that Nikki made a wish that Bear would love her the same as she loved him. Which ironically got him killed because he was just about to throw up the pills he had taken... and yes Michael Johnstone thought that him ODing was a redemption arc that his character didn't deserve... he told Curry and they filmed a last take that had him try and throw it up... great choice.

Also originally Nikki when coming back saw what had happened and shot herself in the head... in this case the studio asked to do an ending that she didn't do that which is the one that you see... and it turned out to be way more devastating.

Also Curry and Inde both confirmed that Bear did have a shot, if he had just been honest at the start. People get confused when Ian tells his Friendzone story but firstly, you can't trust anything Ian says... his motives are not pure and if you listen carefully to the dialog that is being said it shows that she was ready to give Bear a chance if only he had been courageous... but Bear f'd it up so Nikki being Nikki was done. Then the snap and boom...

He also confirmed that the wish is not Possession or Voodoo etc... it simply fulfills whatever is wished for... it takes the words completely literally... watching from this viewpoint... you can see "Wish Nikki" always trying to work out how to how to achieve that and trying one thing after another till they were 'in love' again. And yes Real Nikki was present "the whole time" she saw it all which is the true horror.

Curry Barker (Writer / Director / Editor) is a you tuber his channel is "That's a bad idea" He has amazing vision and excellent Directing and Editing capabilities, he also listens to input from the Actors and Crew. His actual script choices are incredible. His layered social commentary is amazing and so NOT Hollywood Push this in your face. True cinema. It is all about things that rarely get brought up... particularly SA, Co-dependency and all other types of abuse (from both sides) in disfunctional relationships neatly served up through a psychological horror lens..

This film made in 2024 shot in three weeks on a $750K budget to date has earned over $495M at the Box Office Worldwide...

Lastly your wrap up commentary was probably the best I have seen... brilliant reaction.

Great reaction 👍

I believe the reason she paid herself is because she’s trapped inside the body pretty much controlled by a demon so the key I believe was not a fear
