Greatest of all time 🐐 Leo Messi

I don't think Messi's career will ever be replicated. He even clinched the best storyline. If you study his life, you're like studying the beauty of football, winning/losing, team spirit, coaches, clubs, the press, and the role of a nation. 🤯

Do I think Ronaldo deserves the Messi treatment?

The celebration Messi received is not something a player begs for. It is something your people gives you. It is bestowed upon you by a nation whose gratitude has grown so deep that ordinary words and trophies are no longer enough to express it.

And remember, this is Argentina we're talking about. The same people who, barely a decade ago, were burning Messi shirts, questioning his commitment, and telling him he could never give them what Maradona had given them. He endured all of that. He kept coming back. He kept carrying the weight of an entire footballing nation on his shoulders. And eventually, he gave them the one thing they had demanded from him all along which was the World Cup.

So when Argentina celebrates Messi the way they do now, that isn't something he asked for. It is something they decided he deserved.

Does Ronaldo deserve the same treatment? That's not for Messi fans, Ronaldo fans, or anyone outside Portugal to decide. The only people who get to decide that are the Portuguese. It is their Nations. Our sentiments do not carry weight in this decision.

If you feel so deeply that Ronaldo should be celebrated in the same way as Messi then bring Ronaldo home to your own country and celebrate him there. As for his nation? Let the Portuguese people decide what he means to them and how they want to honor him. Because national adoration isn't something you can demand, compare, or manufacture from another country's love.

And judging by how Portugal itself has responded to Ronaldo's career, don't assume they will give him the exact same farewell Argentina gave Messi. Messi didn't ask Argentina to worship him. Argentina decided, after everything he had given them, that they wanted to. There's a difference.

That send off last night damn you can tell people in 20 years time and explain Messi career with Argentina and you wouldn’t think they’re crazy for mistaking it for a plot to a movie

Where do I rank Messi? Who else has carried their team on all stats to 3 different World Cup finals, 2 golden balls with 1 robbed, 8 ballon dors and more than likely a super ballon d or, 4 ucls, 40+ trophies, most assists ever, most g/a ever, most man of the match awards, most world cup victories, and however many other accolades. What other player at 39 is going to do what he managed to do this last World Cup. Mind you he could win a Ballon D Or this month. The guy is truly up there with the great athletes ever seen.

Still crying can't believe messi won't play another international tournament

Messi's footballing journey has been truly admirable. He went from being hated by the Argentine people for his failures, to now being admired and respected by all Argentines.

3 world cup finals man. Insane

He is a life lesson to everyone. The Greatest there ever is the greatest there ever was the greatest there ever will be💯

Messi's story had everything, From decades of pain, agony and criticism to pinnacle of football.

MESSI THE GOAT ,NUMBER ONE FOREVER

The first assist was for his old comrade, who would retire on the very same day as him.  One final connection between teammates who had shared countless battles, victories, defeats, and unforgettable nights together.

The second was for Argentina’s new flame. The young star destined to carry the legacy and become the new symbol of the No. 10.

The goal was for himself. A penalty, as if to prove one final time that, despite the painful misses at the World Cup, he could still stand over the spot and deliver.

And the last free kick?

That was for everyone who had supported him through every rise and every fall, through triumph and heartbreak.

One final strike. One final gift.

Fly high, and be free.

Thank you, Lionel Messi.

You played football beautifully. You gave us memories that will last a lifetime.

But perhaps most importantly, you became exactly what you once hoped to be remembered as:

a good person.

We the fans are going to miss him. Goodbye to Lionel Messi, a true legend of the game.

Brother....what he did in Barcelona for so long...no one has done that. At that level, at that consistency, for that long....

That assist to Nico Paz was poetic, from current 10 to future 10

Nico Paz is one of my favourite ballers especially as a Madrid fan, hope he comes back home one day.
#MadeInLaFabrica

Man I wanted him to atleast play one more copa america either on bench or while playing anything man but I just wanted to see his magic in argentina jersey it's truly ending my childhood

I wonder how it feels like to be simply just the best footballer to ever grace the pitch.

What more could we have asked from messi he gave use his all he made the impossible looks possible he carried teams to grlory even when people didn't believe all we can say is dont cry because its over smile because you got to watch him

Messi ❤

Roll back the clocks 10 years and no one would have ever thought that he could ever achieve what he has after his first international retirement.

In 2022 after their wc win i couldn't understand why he didn't take the chance to retire internationally "on his own terms" for good but i would have never expected that he would still have it in him in 2026...

But yeah - today a little part of childhood dies - I am 24 so the era of Messi/Ronaldo basically was "always there" - still doesn't feel real that it is coming to an end
