I haven’t bothered to prove again and again why Youtube shadow banned me because frankly no one cares. They just want to play golf well and I want to help them do that.
Thank you for you honesty and professionalism, but I have no idea what “samples” were sent to you so I can’t comment on that other than to say no one is supposed to be copying or sharing my copyrighted content as per my terms of service.
The golf club is a completely unique tool and works like nothing else we're familiar with. Adults have what is called “illusory knowledge,” or an incorrect belief of how the golf club works and no one has any idea they have it. We know this to be true by looking at any 5 year old who has a great swing 15 minutes after picking up a club - because the kid doesn’t have this “illusory knowledge.” Also, kids know nothing about “swing plane” or lag or any of these other ideas but they all somehow perform them perfectly.
I don’t teach a “feel.” That’s just a silly idea that people use who can’t actually explain true physics. No one can ever know that your “feel” is the same as theirs. I teach an actual singular linear intent based on the physics of what is called “phase lag,” and it’s how the golf club is designed to be used.
Swing plane, as Ben Hogan described it is correct but that’s not what I teach, because when you have the proper intent, like a 5 year old, you end up with a proper swing plane without ever thinking about it. So, you’re kind of assuming that my method is similar but it’s not - it’s actually far, far more simple.
Also, you’re assuming that you understand the physics of the design of the golf club, but again your understanding is incomplete because the golf club is NOT a weightless stick that we can manipulate in real time. There’s a reason most of the mass is located in the clubhead because that imparts a force known as “inverse kinematics” on the player and it’s the force that creates what we all know as lag tension.
You’re correct in that “none of this is new” … as far as physics goes, but oddly, and to my amazement, it’s never been applied to golf.
You have a good point about working out, but you’re missing a fundamental piece of the puzzle there too. You can work out for years and never see any results if you aren’t doing it correctly and I learned this the hard way. Not until I trained with proper form did I ever see any results and that’s oddly similar to golf - you can do it wrong and it kinda works but not great - but when you do it properly it works amazingly well … AND IT’S EASIER!
My channel began before “click through” was an algorithm. Before they tracked it, my channel was exploding but once YouTube started tracking it, my channel tanked.
Unfortunately I had to take down the original videos and move them to my website, because they were too inspirational. There were literally tons of comments of people saying stuff like, “It’s 1 am and I have to go outside and try this.” Then they’d come back a half hour later and say, “I can feel it! I can’t wait to go to the range tomorrow and try it for real!”
I began my channel originally to inspire people and that’s exactly what happened and then YT started tracking click through and then suddenly it was like I’d shot myself in the foot.
When you say there are hundreds of methods of teaching golf isn’t that evidence that something is fundamentally wrong. There’s not hundreds of ways to teach math, science, physics or even how to use basic tools like a saw, drill or hammer. Each discipline or tool has a specific use and although you can make a hole by hammering a drill bit that isn’t how it’s designed to be used.
Traditional golf instruction is all “swing based” or what I call the “Genie Effect” or the belief that if you can mimic this or that body motion the golf club will magically agree to perform. I teach “club centric” instruction or understanding how and why the golf club works and why it’s designed the way it is and that changes everything.
Literally every good player does perform the same move otherwise they wouldn’t be good. They may not look the same but they are doing the same thing … Well, most of them, there are a few pros who are doing it the hard way and they are actually the more impressive athletes because they still get it done but it requires a lot more effort and they tend to be streaky players. What I mean by this is all good players are sending their force in the proper direction. If we look at only the part of the swing that actually matters - from the top down to impact - they’re all doing the same thing. You can wind-up or backswing however you like as we see from someone like Matt Wolff v Jim Furyk or Raymond Floyd but they all create the optimal position at the top where they have the maximum or optimal mechanical ability to apply force.
What I teach, as I said, isn’t a new golf swing it’s simply the missing piece of the puzzle that makes the golf swing make sense. Everyone seems to almost inherently know there is a missing piece and once you understand it - literally everything else about the golf swing suddenly makes sense.
