Obsession is a psychological horror movie that deserves more attention — and arguably deserves better than being reduced to a theme park attraction.

In this video, I take a closer look at Obsession, what makes the movie so disturbing, and why its horror works so well as psychological horror rather than simply presenting Nikki as a traditional horror villain. The real horror of Obsession comes from what Nikki experiences as a victim, and that distinction completely changes the way the movie can be interpreted.

I’ll break down what makes Obsession so effective, why Nikki is such an important part of the movie’s horror, and why I think there’s much more going on beneath the surface than the imagery might initially suggest.

If you enjoyed Obsession, psychological thrillers, psychological horror, or horror movies with a deeper story and character-driven approach, this video is for you.
