107 Obsession Facts YOU Should Know!

Be careful what you wish for! People have been saying this for quite some time, but I don’t know if it has ever been so very visceral. Obsession is the year’s biggest horror movie, which is especially surprising when other notable releases have included Backrooms, Evil Dead, and 28 Years Later. Folks just can’t get enough of this nasty, mean-spirited indie. And with that in mind, we’ve collected 107 frightful facts about the production, the cast, the crew, and more! So check your drivers-side window, and maybe journal a little bit about your wishes, because we’re about to take over your mind with something otherworldly.

During the dinner date scene, the guy sitting behind Bear is actually the composer of the film - Rock Burwell

#41 - Sorry for being such a stickler about this but I am a longtime fan of Curry’s and watched everything involving him or “That’s a bad idea” routinely!
You hit one and missed one here!
YES: he thought about playing Bear at first.
NO: the test footage (taken roughly a year before the actual filming began) had COOPER as the character “Bear”. You can even see a second or two of this in the special features on the already released media!

Btw I think Michael did an AMAZING job here, but I’m 100% sure that Curry would have been awesome in that role too!
The reason I'm not too sad about it is solely because I know we’re going to see him starring in “Anything but Ghosts”, and bc I guess it was probably (or definitely) less stressful for him to handle “only” so many roles at once, already being the writer, director and editor! 👏🏻

Being the lead/director/writer/editor AND seemingly effortlessly creating such a flawless masterpiece would show everyone that there was seriously 🤫 witchcraft involved!! 🥰😅♥️

Fact check me, but the Art Director was paid to scale. Which is huge in the film biz. There have been multiple strikes over such things. When the Art Director signed her contract. The terms were laid out and she signed. Post release, she deserves more? Come on. You signed a contract and were happy at the time. You got paid, to do your job.

What are you talking about? 16:55 is a normal time that's displayed all the time on clocks
Are you okay?

The only good Blumhouse movies are the ones that Blum himself purchases after production is already completed. that dude has single-handedly ruined the genre for so many years with his cut and paste stories.

Eh, I think a whole anthology show with one wish willows would get boring after a while. What I would like is a spin off that deals somewhat with Nikki after these events. She'd be in a mental hospital, and whoever created the one wish willow appears to her, maybe 💁🏻‍♂

The embarassment of this film, and most modern films, is it’s amorality – the failure distinguish between good actions, bad actions, good desires that need ‘hemming in’ or redirection, etc. Amorality, by nature, sucks all the potential for tension and climax out of a film, because there are no boundaries – nothing to bounce off. Curry Barker, being the cynical capitalist that he is, has gone for pure exploitation, maximum depravity without purpose, trauma - for the sake of trauma. The uneducated masses, subject themselves to this ‘shock treatment’ and believe they have gone through some profound aesthetic experience, where in reality, they just paid to to be subjected to engineered visceral thrills. The reviewers who are lost over “who is is the villian”, are missing the point. An amoral story cannot have a hero or a villain, because it has no moral demands. The only ‘villians’ are the people who produce these social experiments, under the guise of ‘indie art’, and are laughing all the way to the bank.
