I'm a trails guide here in South Africa and I bought a pair of barefoot ranger boots at the end of 2023 and I did about 2000km in them before I had to replace the rubber outer soles. I payed R600 (about 33USD) for Jim Green to fetch, repair and deliver the boots back to me and they are as good as new. Took them about 4 weeks, it's obvious that many people are using this very useful service. Best shoes I've ever owned! Thanks a lot for the colab.

As a construction worker, we don’t have any barefoot work boots that check all the boxes. This one is so close, but still would need a slightly thicker sole and a more structured toe box with maybe an option for steel toe as well. If this boot had that it would sell like crazy to us construction workers looking for that barefoot style that is growing.

Long term reviews are something to see more of! love to see it for the collabs. Seeing how a product ages is key, to me at least, to whether I invest in it or not, particularly if it's branded as quality or rugged

I don’t get people who will want to see your videos but then hate on you promoting a product you helped create. Sure you’re promoting your product, but you’re also giving us insight to part of the industry and what really goes into creating a new boot like this. Honestly I think it’s really cool

I am a locksmith and I got a pair of these boots. They are so comfortable to walk most of the day in and they keep the brass and aluminum slivers out of my feet. They are perfect for finishing level construction work.

I sure hope ya’ll are cookin up a barefoot version of their new workhorse/meander moc toe

I own the barefoot rangers from your collab with them. They're my favourite pair of boots to wear while hiking, gardening, landscaping and doing general work around the property. The only draw back is that they aren't steal toe so I can't wear them as a work boot

As someone who works in production I love this kind of thing being left in videos.

I own the barefoot ranger and Trooper ., they are more comfortable than most sneakers .. I wear mine daily especially the short version .. the Rugged trooper is a tank !! It takes awhile to break in but so worth it

I wear my barefoot Rangers and Troopers to work as a heavy equipment operator in a warehouse. My observation was that they were comfortable and the uppers held up to wear very well. But the rubber outsoles wore down a lot faster than traditional options from Thorogood or Red Wing. I'd estimate that my troopers lasted 6 months until they required a resole. The rangers have lasted longer but didn't get as much use through the wet winter weather.

Please figure out in house resoling!!! Please! I'm a ranch hand in NM with no local cobbler. I've had my barefoot African troopers for a month and love them! I'd totally send you my boots to resole when it's time!!!

I've had my standard African Rangers for about 3 months now and am very happy with them as everyday footwear.  They're a good all-around compromise sole-wise, they're stiffer than a barefoot boot and have a shank so I can use a shovel, stand on ladders etc, but still flexible enough to go hiking in.  The only thing I would change is the width, they're a little too wide for my standard (D) width foot but some thicker insoles and thicker socks has definitely helped in that department.

to me the OG african rangers are the best. 1 year with them and love em gettin a crazy patina. i never thought i would find a shoe that would make my feet stop sweating to the point i dont need foot powder anymore.

I just came back over hear after hearing about your involvement with Jom Green.
Personally I prefer the look of a chunky boot, & have work Dr Martens, combat boots, Grinders since 1994, & was just commenting again on your 5 year old Dr Marten videos as it feels like a waste to resolve my post 2003 (made in Vietnam I believe) boots. I have worn the Belleville minimalist boot for the last 7 years including as an electrician. A barefoot boot or shoe is ideal if your not on hard surfaces all day, ladder rungs (you can toughen up), or running a shovel as was mentioned all things I have plenty of experience with. With ladders I actually enjoy the security of feeling the rung under foot, but it took time strengthening them. These boots remind me of boxing boots, & I wish I coukd somehow get a chunkier looking boot with zero, or close to heel lift, & a more aggressive lug sole.
I have made & still wear Vibram Cherry sandals, & I'm curious how these boots outsole handle slick & especially icy conditions. Being it is a softer material even without aggressive lugs I see it grabbing well unless the lugs & sole are coated with wet sticky mud.
Would really love to hear more, or try them for myself.
I no longer work in the traded, but private security, & executive protection so I spend long days with my boots on, & often on my feet (concrete or hard floors), as well as outdoors in inclement Midwest weather so I'm really curious if these can handle m needs, while also looking nice as a casual boot.

By far the best pair of boots I've owned. These are the only boots I go camping or hiking in now. I seriously plan buy a pair in every color eventually, AND an extra in my favorite in case anything happens. They are seriously that good.
