the world genuinely needs more traditional boots with a wide toe box. Ive been looking for something like this for ages

Because of this channel and the main Rose Anvil, I am a Jim Green fan for life!

Love your creativity Weston and Gareth!

I'm a South African (SADF) combat veteran paratrooper, now 70 years old. Our original RED jump boots were okay to jump in but far to heavy to fight in the African bush. The result was we ditched the jump boots and used regular infantry boots to jump and fight in. Now this Rugged African Trooper boot would have been perfect but it has arrived 50 years too late for me! I wonder if Jim Green could offer this boot in RED, as a tribute boot to the SADF Parabats as we are known. Thanks for a great channel.

I'm digging it.
Something I'd love to see in the future would be a zero drop version of the rugged african ranger. Not a barefoot boot, just zero drop with a beefy sole for work applications.
I personally find the zero drop, wide toebox boots much more comfortable for working in the back country, but the available options tend toward full barefoot at the expense of durability.

I hope desperately that this collaboration continues past the two batches. Always seems like you guys drop these when I can't justify another pair of boots, but I really really want these ones. I already have four pairs of Jim greens, there is no way I can justified buying another pair at the moment.

Also am I the only one that thinks these would look awesome in a jungle Boot pattern, with a green shaft and then black everything else?

Safety toe? There are thousands of us in the SLC valley alone that need quality steel toe boots

@endurocox 1 year ago

Just waiting on the safety toe option now so I can wear at work!

Thanks for making this boot. Excited to see another collaboration.

Hi I'm the guy that said we need this in steel toe yesterday .... I broke down and ordered these.... DAMNIT!

@noah1987-un7hc 1 year ago

A no heel zero drop version would be ideal

Excited to see the Meander/Workhorse in next year's moctober

*Don't be worried about rambling on the second channel, that's why we're here!

My joints are jacked up from parachuting in the Army, and my doc suggested a zero drop boot. I purchased a 3/4 Acro (?) boot, and i was able to walk WAY further than normal on day one with them. The problem is I need more ankle support from a higher boot (no cartilage anymore). This may work!
Looking forward to owning a pair.

I'm losing my mind over the Houston Brown. Gawd I hope they are still in stock on payday at the end of the week. Bravo Jim Green and to you Weston and your team!

@Ghostface8198 1 year ago

Would love a video using the JG balm on them! I bought some but I’ve only ever used leather honey on other pairs of boots.

This man tells no lies: The wide toe-box is freaking magic. (I got one of them African Rangers barefoot boots.)

@andresmarrerop 1 year ago

I need to get one of those barefoot in black!

Your channel taught me a lot and showed me a lot about boots and footwear!

Thank you for the content! Keep the great work going!

Cheers from Venezuela 🇻🇪

Rugged African Trooper 6"? I'd buy those. (Started with the Vellie, then the Ranger and then the Barefoot Rangers)

@PacoElMapache 1 year ago (edited)

I would love to have a rugged barefoot fully lined boot with 2 layers of vegtan soles. They would serve ina deep bush survival context with heavy rucks. A solid durable but still barefoot would be amazing!

@_faultee_ 1 year ago

I really love mine except for their issue with the tongue gusset. I no longer need heavy, heavily lugged boot anymore so I bought my barefoot african troopers on launch got em super early, the leather is amazing. I love them much more than my original short top rangers.
