So glad the algorithm sent me here, grreat video. As a aspiring bedroom DJ , i have watched some great how to videos from talented dj's. However, your video is the best because its provides something all the others dont - a great mix between practical and theory where you can see the mistakes and corrections it being played out live ( RL) with great insight/feedback.
Thank you, you've gained a sub.

Finally found a Youtube DJ that mixes pop/dance the same way I do (loop incoming track, keep momentum going). Just one question, you really only seem to do one transition (phrase match, echo out), I agree that your phrasing and single transition keeps the energy high, but dont you get bored?

I think the uptown funk transition wit the 4 bar loop could have worked really well with the right song. Especially like a disco/funky track with a similar or complementary bass line.

Great video! I must say tho I don’t think every DJ mix is about keeping or upping the energy.. sometimes it’s to change the energy
Give them a break a lil
Or sometimes stuff just sounds really good together and rather that ups and maintains the energy doesn’t matter
