I started DJing 18 months ago at the age of 46, within 5 months I had my 1st bar gig which I play regularly, plus do loads of parties.
I’ve always known how to beat match etc, but I would say song choice with clean transitions supersedes any fancy dan shit.
Most of my bookings are on the back of a gig people attended. The night isn’t about me, it’s about the audience. If it was all about me, I’d play 3 hours of 90’s / 00’s trance music 😂
