It's EVERYWHERE, and it's so easy to find yourself in a whirlwind of hopelessness and 'maybe's' when you've been CONSTANTLY getting automated 'regret to inform you' emails. Even after getting certifications on top of one's degree, you're still not offered the opportunity to earn the 'experience' they so badly demand in these job descriptions.
i got a bachelor's and a master's degree in finance. I can't get a call back for call center jobs. I am so SICK of "tell me about a time when" I am literally gonna lose it lollll
Interviews are definitely humiliation rituals. It's to the point where I can tell they aren't gonna hire me but are getting off on being in the position of having the power to give something you need.
I genuinely feel for young people these days. I’m in a fortunate position now as a 40-year-old surgeon with a private practice, but I still remember what it was like being an unemployed 20-year-old trying to find work. The difference is that back then it was so much easier to get a foot in the door, the cost of living was far lower, and AI wasn’t competing with entry-level jobs and career pathways.
This girl is articulate, intelligent, and clearly capable. In my generation she would have been considered easily employable. Growing up in the 90s was so much easier. My generation had the best of both worlds and we didn’t have social media to drag us down. I watch this space with growing intrigue as an outsider because the way we treat this current generation will shape our future.
Kat, it’s not you. The situation has been poor since 2023. I’ve interviewed directors out of work for two years with over 20 years experience. Just sit tight.
If I were without work for more than 2 months I would be homeless. At that point, life is not about work anymore it's about survival. This is where they are pushing us (I am 55 yrs old and it's not easy to start over).
Recruiters are a useless job. If they can’t get a job for someone after 50 applications then they’re just making money to sit on their ass until they have to prove they’re doing the bare minimum to show they’re “helping”.
Finding A Job In 2026 Is Actually Impossible (I Give Up)
