That is a good way to batch cut frets when making many identical guitar necks. You might have a finger notch to get to the frets in each pocket.
I only use Stainless Steel fret wire and so I cut them to the right size like that already (although not as quick as running down the block you have), and I lay them on the guitar neck at their slot to keep track of which I'm doing, also using the guitar neck as the width gauge before snipping "off the spool". The old guys using regular wire with long overhangs on both sides who switched to stainless wire complain about cutting because they have the process of making "72" cuts per neck vs "24" cuts when trimmed to the correct length to start with.
I do like how your reference fret block has fret markers drilled and colored! I have a drilled block with sharpy numbers 1-24.

I just realized I might finally be in a position to order a TTG Daily Driver!!! I’ll sleep on it tonight because I want to make sure this doesn’t interfere with getting my dentures made up. I blew up a motor and had to use the denture money for a replacement car and it took a while to recover but work has finally picked up so I think I can do it all now. How exciting!

Great idea. Seems to me, that If you wanted to make the frets longer for maybe a seven string guitar, no need to build a new block, just make a thin wooden overlay with the 24 holes, centered with locating pins, as thick as the amount you want to add to each fret length. In fact, you could make the block as tall as the shortest fret length you would want to use, and then add the overlay for different lengths.

Pretty good idea! I see he has the little reliefs in there to grab the frets. It might be even faster if you had a piece you can put on top after you cut the frets. Flip it over and the frets are all loaded into a block and easy to grab.

You should make it two pieces. A top and a bottom layer so once you cut them you can just lift off the top layer and not have to transfer frets from one to another.

Interesting gizmo Eric Hill came up with. ...on another note and keep in mind Im just some "jamoke" in my basement, if you clip your fret ends to avoid fret sprout, How would a guy that works in his basement using the stew mac templates for slotting on a table saw, avoid slotting through side to side of the fretboard. I like the idea but just not sure how to do this and it's never explained no matter if I watch you or anyone else. Id love to hear any suggestions you MIGHT have.

That's a cool little helper! What might be nice is the base was an array of ~25mm (😉 ) cylinders matched to the tubes so when you were done cutting you would press down and the base would partly push out the cut frets, like pistons, so the whole thing would also serve as the fret block. That looked like the fiddliest bit.

That Clearly saves time. Bet it took a lot of time Drilling all them holes just right. But that is time well spent as it saves more time than it took to create that block.

My idea to make the block of wood better is to have the holes for the frets drilled all the way through the block, then have a matching board with pegs on it that are sized to length to cut them. Then you can tilt it on it's side put another board with pegs cut to make the frets stand proud of the block so you an do your normal trimming and placement ops. If you always work with fixed fret sizes the pegs being solid would probably be fine, but if you wanna get really nerdy you could make them adjustable with flat top screws to adjust the height of the pegs more finely rather than just using wooden dowels with fixed length. You could also use the same block with multiple peg boards to get different sizes/graduations, too. Lots of options to be creative.
