My buddies house is pink and blue with a lot of triangles. Its scary.

As a design student, I’m happy to relay that there’s an entire generation of young artists and designers who are incredibly pissed off about exactly this, and will do everything in their power to course correct this once they have more influence on the industries themselves (myself included). Shoutout to all the amazing people taking strides to make our collective future a little more whimsical.

my mum liked dark colours and couldnt handle loud places or bright things because she got migraines. She still let me dress up in bright pink and took me to birthday parties and forced herself to be social because THATS WHAT PARENTS DO!!!!!!!!!!!!

The beige mom thing isn't just boring and difficult for kids. It also stunts childhood development. It's been scientifically proven that babies need bright colors, sensations, and texture in order to develop their vision and sense of touch. Having everything be smooth and beige is going to inhibit their ability to develop their vision and sensory ability.

i wish north americans didn't abandon art deco, neogothic, neobaroque and chateauesque architecture :(

It breaks my heart when I see people buy old houses just to make them modern. It absolutely crushes me every time.

When I was pregnant in 2022, I talked about how hard it was for me to find colorful kids stuff and my colleague said that she thought the beige was pretty. I had to pause before I told her that it wasn't about my own taste, it was about what children like. Not to mommy shame, but when I get things for my child, it is with what makes them happy in mind. I'd rather have a house full of neon toys than a beige one with a tablet for entertainment

I don't think it IS going to get worse. A lot of people seem to long for colour these days, and I can see the trend shifting to more colourful stuff simply because that's what the market wants now. I've actually started noticing that several of the fancy new cars I see around town now have actual colours. Very bright blues seem to be the most common, followed by bright orange/yellow and unusual shades of green, and this other day I even saw a light pink one.

hey kurtis, i just learned to juggle to this video, has nothing to do with the video, but i’m proud of myself, be proud of me.

Some shows are so dark I go to turn my brightness up but it is already at full brightness. It's genuinely something that happens so often.

I notice whenever I’m in a modern city my favourite part is the graffiti. The colour, the symbolism and the uniqueness. But nowadays even that’s discouraged because it’s adding an ounce of creativity to perfectly boring inhabited cubes.

One of the reasons i love the new Superman movie was, its was a great movie, but i could ACTUALLY see what w a s happening and it was colourful. ❤

As a child of a beige mum as soon as I moved out I painted my walls bright colours and all of my clothes are colourful

The worst part is that there isn't even anything hilariously bad or trashy anymore. It all just feels like generic slop. There's no more fun terrible movies, only boring ones

edit: hi everyone, people have brought up a lot of good points in the replies! I wanted to address some:
1. I do know a lot of really good movies/tv has been released, and I do watch them. I want bad movies to be actual garbage, not just really basic ai cookie cutter scripts!! I want bad movies to feel like they were directed by a passionate but unskilled group of teenagers, not a paranoid average screenwriter who never steps out of their comfort zone
2. I haven't seen the minecraft movie so I didn't think of it lol, i've heard both that it was entertaining and also that it was boring so idk

Kurtis is the most Australian-looking non-Australian man I have ever seen in my life.

I think this is why I love Halloween and especially Christmas. Because of the color and character each holiday brings

Guys we just have to get craftier!!!!!!! I’m telling you why are we waiting for companies to grab our attention like they used to! Let’s just MAKE SILLY SHIT AND PAINT THE WALLS FUCKIN TIEDYE!!!!!!!!!!

I remember when youtube let you edit your channel theme to where you could change the color and opacity of all the boxes, change the text color, put in a hideous tiled background. I remember spending so much time creating the most eye-searing channel theme a 12 year old girl could concieve

as a future architect i promise i will single handed put a stop to this grey madness

Even makeup is boring now. This "clean girl" aesthetic is so lifeless. What happend to the colorful eyeshadows and the wild colored lipsticks? 🥹
