Thanks for including "Piranesi", a thoroughly disturbing, but beautifully written book, from the author of "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell". It took her over twenty years to write it, and it was IMO worth the wait.

Awh... The first ones and last ones were so sad. The first, to me, just seems like a terribly abused person living with the broken life and mind he has been left with; the last one, to me, seems to be a very deep look into a very lonely person's mind. 😔 I really wish I could give people like that some peace, stability, and some semblance of the things they need. I want those poor people to be happier; they deserve better than that (at least from my limited understanding).

Are we books with Insane villain?

Like Blood meridian, All Tomorrow, I have no mouth and I must scream.

Focusing on villain atrocity

@De Explainerr The film adaptation of I'm thinking of ending things is less dark and it ends on Ambiguous note.

Hi !! For disturbing books, I'd definitely recommend that you check out When I Was a Work of Art by Eric Emmanuel Schmitt.
