Look at me watching reviews of laptops that cost more than two months rent.

The Price is way too high :x

2.969,32 € for 1TB and 32GB RAM is crazy

@reagag 1 day ago

Funny enough, this is the same chasis as the Asus Googlebook. Hoping you'll be able to review that unit as well!

I like it's iGPU, screen, sound quality, and speaker locations. Unfortunately, the cost is far too high. I get that we are in a RAM apocalypse, but even in these hard times it is too much.

I don’t understand, m5 max pricing (3499 on Best Buy right now) but base m5 performance. My god that anti glare display looks horrendous, yes it cuts down reflections but at what cost.

It's all fun and games until you have to pay for it yourself, and the worst part is when you have to deal with ASUS' warranty. Their laptops usually fall apart one way or another within the first year and are software bug galore.
To be clear, I would like to replace my 2023 Asus M16 with this one, I miss thin and lights, but I already fell down the ASUS trap once before. I learned my lesson.

Should have just started with the price.

@drants-d6y 1 day ago

3.5k? Wasn't that the price of a 4090 gaming laptop?

I had extensive sound and sleep problems with my last Asus laptop trying to get Linux running on it. Asus didn't properly implement its S3 sleep state (so hibernation was b0rked) and sound drivers (Realtek ALC294 -- pray they're not in this laptop) - otherwise any non-Ubuntu distro is pretty screwed tbh. I feel like Linux is risky with this one. Andrew Marc David had some struggles with it too in his review from ~ 8 mo ago, maybe fixed by now, maybe not.

Panther Lake X7 laptops have been a game changer for sure. After fixing my XPS 14 and unlocking its power limits, I haven't looked back to my Mac. The battery life still blows me away!

@54leds 1 day ago

If the battery dies you can't enjoy all of these features you mentioned. And when it does this soon that's a deal breaker.

Thanks for you feedback using this computer during a few weeks. May I ask questions about the fans. Are they always on ? Can you use the expertbook as a laptop or does it need a desk so the bottom ait exaust / intake is free ?

@RRODZI 12 hours ago

I don't understand the hype bro was trying to portray in the title

@DaxDoesDigital 1 day ago

I find it hilarious that laptop manufacturers still put the intake vents for cooling directly on the bottom of the "LAP" top in 2026. 😅 Apple solved this several years ago. MacBook Pros have intake "slits" on the sides, so when the LAPtop is on your "lap", they aren't covered, especially on the 16-inch MBP. And of course, the MacBook Air doesn't have fans, so there are no intake vents to block......

does it perform the same as it was plugged in like macbook's does? because that's one of the main deal breaker for me to be considered it as alternative of Macbook.
