Telling her that without knowledge life is nothing is probably the one lesson henry taught her that she remembered. Knoweledge was how she was cunning in her reign and she never forgot it
Imagine what it was like sitting In house all day doing nothing day after day,, no wonder she learned so many languages.. probably out of pure boredom..
Elizabeth grew up without a mother and yet she had so much adoration for her father who’s a big tool but also a big political force of nature, Had gone through so many stepmothers that she respected and Mary and Edward whom she loved. Long may she reign indeed!
I find it super sweet that Mary loved Elizabeth and Edward very much despite different mothers (esp. knowing how much Mary disliked Anne Boleyn, Elizabeth's mother). I recall reading how Mary would make sure (child) Elizabeth would receive 1 new item (toy, etc) every day to make sure she's cheered up from Mary's own allowance, which said a lot. Sure, as adults, they didn't get along (all 3 siblings) due to religion difference, but when they're young, there was true affection between siblings.
They forgot one important detail they didn’t put in the show. Catherine Howard, and Elizabeth are related to each other, so the bond of kindness is much stronger With these two. Catherine Howard is also the cousin of Anne Boleyn. Which is the reason why Anne herself had stood up for Catherine while she said she is laying in the cold ground next to her after roasting Henry.
As many have already said, Elizabeth becoming one of the greatest and longest reigning monarchs was Anne Boleyn's ultimate revenge against Henry. She was way ahead of her time ❤
