around 10:30 you ask viewers if they want to hear about different important figures in Japan that remain relatively unknown in the west, and I wanna say that I WOULD LOVE THAT!!! I adore all the sections in videos where you talk about specific pieces of Japanese pop culture, or specific people or even that magazine in the Hotaru Soul video, I'd love to see a video of just that, even without a game review attached.

as an australian i really have to respect kariya for talking about australias disgusting history, along with the very real contemporary racism that goes on here. its incredibly rare for anyone to acknowledge and then also want to talk about it with the platform he has.

This was such a good watch! It's fascinating to learn so much about a series I'd never heard about. Your deep dives are really great!

I like how the riceball and water guy was just proven completely right. The protagonist had to make literally toxic riceballs and sewage water to make him not wanna eat it. That's not "proof that taste matters more than you thought", it's just "of course you won't want to eat poison". The guy's opinion didn't change at all! He still prefers the normal riceball and water that our hero thinks is tasteless. He's only picking the "gourmet" one here cos you only gave him two choices: that or rancid rotting food.
You did a great job of showing how frustrating the snobbishness can be in this manga cos I absolutely agree, from this one chapter! Just let the dude enjoy his bland meals without being tortured.

My favorite YouTuber talking about my favorite niche series.

My favorite part of your videos is you going on a deep dive on the history/background of a series, it's creators, and the genre they're apart of! So you asking if I want to see more of that with obscure (west wise) figures, my answer is a hell yeah!

Also vid is great, sucks we'll never see Kariya's intended ending of Kaibara being revealed as Jesus Christ's reincarnation and bringing a new era of world peace

Your videos are so compelling. I think I'd happily listen to anything you want to talk about :')

thanks. i had tried to read the series a few times but couldn't really get into it, nice to get a bit more context for such a huge manga

came back to this video after seeing the trailer for the anime adaptation of Oishinbo.

The stars are being aligned

Oh what? I really liked this manga from what I'd read of it. I haven't finished it yet. No idea it got political, but it was constantly advocating for social awareness. I remember the chapter where they went into detail about racism. It's an absolutely fantastic manga, highlighting the best of what non-shonen can be. Informative and educational.

Kaibara is one of these examples where the antagonist of a work is several times more popular than the heroes. Episode 32 is a big fan favorite because of the moe gap of the so serious Kaibara dirtying his hands for what felt like the only time ever to eat a hamburger and keeping up his front until the end to hide that he liked it. It's also worth noting that Kaibara's new VA is the son of the previous one!

I really appreciate your nuanced and direct takes of media

This is a 10/10 video I have learned so much and have a new manga to read.

언제나 처럼 잘 보겠습니다 밥선생님 🫂

I have to said, I love how you got into a deep dive of each of the products you analyse.
All of them, from the most mediocre to the gems, you always deliver with such and indepth researche of their oriigns, and creations. I even love how you ramble about other things related in the videos, because those always help to create a bigger picture and by themselves, are really interesting info.

But, I love how fair you are in your praising and critizism, not treating anything as the best, finding good things in bad media, or how you offer a really nuance vision of the game or series. Just like in Sakura Wars, when you could only talk about the game, but instead you took the space to talk about the historic facts of their era and how it affected no only japaneses but Koreans.

And your deadpan humor always hit me.

I hope you continue with your work, because your videos are some of the ones I repeat the most here in youtube while I work. Hope you are doing well, and enjoy your autumm!

Hmmm making my shitty boomer character more relatable as I become more boomer shaped.

This video seems tailor made to suit my interests haha. Would definitely be interested in more videos on manga artists in the future

What happened with Kaibara reminds me a lot of how, as Baki continued and Itagaki grew older, Yujiro Hanma went from "the strongest man on earth is a monster and a bully who cannot connect with his family" to "the strongest man on earth is just so cool, look how strong he is"

So good! Thank you

Oh yes, would love an Aoi Honoo video!!
