Tennis was so much bigger back then because you didnt have social media, internet or even that many channels on the TV at all

I completely understand Borg here, the same happened to me in another sport & I wasn't at the highest level Borg was. He was an amazing player, a joy to watch.

Bjorn Borg still a total legend 👏,  the first human being to win five Wimbledon Singles titles in a row - 1976 to 1980 !
With no real sports phycology back up around in the1970s , he remained on the surface calm and collected during matches.
With his trusty Donnay racket , a fantastic base line player with the ability to move to the net and attack .
If he was twenty something now he would wipe the board with players around ,his shear brilliance, fitness and ability to be calm on the court .
The modern tennis racket and materials used , as in alot of sports now, including running shoes , have actually taken o ver from the basic sporting prowess/skills that an individual has in any given sport.
Borg's individual talent and ability is legendary,  he will always be the very best in my humble eyes.
Blooming fantastic.
Thanks Bjorn for FAB memories in the great 1970's

I really enjoyed that video, Björn. Very informative. Thanks for being so honest about it all.

Hello Björn! Nice to her Your voice again! Very interesting to here this from Your perspective. Thank You for all the tennis You delivered.//Anders PS. I always were Your underwere. DS

Intellectual Tennis GOAT. I was a very good tennis player at the highest level of Junior tennis and when I won I felt relieved and when I lost I was bereft

Bjorn did the right thing, even though it was a price to pay.  Bjorn was the best, and so as many tennis players tried to emulate him, myself included in the 70’s-80’S.  No chance for me, although I enjoyed trying then.

All sports seem to have changed the same way….even fly fishing….

He left a lot of money on the table by exiting the game when he did. But, he avoided a host of problems associated with the situation and sport. Hopefully he invested his earnings well.

Interestingly his Coach Lennart Bergelin although quit his active career with 26 years.

Thanks,  I think this whole modern circus got it's inspiration from your technique and game, they just don't know it anymore

Didn't his first of three wives deplete him: Mariana Simionescu? Married 1980-1984, which coincides with his tennis demise.

Ist das nicht der, von dem  man vor zig Jahren jahrelang nichts hörte, aber auch nicht von der Backe bekam ... 🤯

We have a thing in the trades. It’s not the tool you’re using. It’s the one that’s using the tool that makes the difference you’re either an expert with it or you’re not.

This has to be AI.

You cannot reverse history. But although I understand how Björn acted, I still think, could he have acted in another way? My thoughts are stupid! It is haw it is. And thank you Björn and the other players of tthat time, for the thilling, exiting matches. I remember: for me it started with Orantes and Björn in Paris.

The sport of pro cycling has gone through a similar metamorphosis over the last 20 years. Bicycles, nutrition, and scientific training are much superior to what existed in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. One can't compare modern pro-cycling to that of the past. Looks like tennis is in a similar circumstance.

about the top 100 can make a living from the sport ... For most it's a loss. It's not like football were there are thousands and thousands making millions

A fools game, players are sacrificial lambs to keep the business not the sport alive.

Is this the real Borgs words or AI?
