Simply the best. #1 winning % at Grand Slams.  93% winning % at Wimbledon...Stay Hard for Life 💪 💯

Well, the first time Mac and Borg met Borg didn´t have a chance. He was completely demolished.

I remember as a kid my sister gave me a DONNAY raquet used by Borg at Wimbledon
I still hv it today

Wimbledon then and now was a grt different
Today in 2026 it plays like clay court

Grt player Borg
No one like him even today
Playing on grass then in Wimbledon real fast against all the grt serve volley players .

Time magazine had a front cover with the following headline. "The incredible Tennis machine". I think it best summarises what this was all about. You can't break a machine unless it runs out of oil, and that is exactly what happened. When he was not motivated any longer, he just pulled out. He had nothing more to prove. Wimbledon champion x 5 (consecutive wins). French open (Roland Garros) on clay x 6 (two years he skipped preparing for Wimbledon). Most likely he would have won these two years as well, making it eight in a row. The only tournament that eluded him was the US Open where he was runner up 4 times, but he never won. He never played the Australian open, but this would definitely have suited him. Ilie Nastase put it like this "We play tennis, Borg plays something else". There are other great players emerging after Borg, without doubt, but he was one of a kind. A little bit like Armando Duplantis, the superior pole vault champion competing for Sweden and the world record holder. He also lay the foundation to other players that would emerge from the tiny country up in the north. Mats Wilander, Stefan Edberg, Mikael Pernfors, Magnus Norman, etc, etc. Even the great Boris Becker said the reason he started to play tennis was seeing Borg as a kid. His legacy remains.

To me he was the GOAT. No one has ever won 11 of their first 28 grand slam appearances. nadal came close at 10.
The only blemish, if there was one, is why he could never win the US Open? He certainly proved that he could be them at Wimby. Maybe he didn't likethe hostile crowd at flushing meadows? After all, he didn't like to travel far only playing in one Oz Open. Maybe the same for the USO?

Great video .i could use some bjorn

IT'S ASHAME THAT Arthur Ashe COULD NOT BE INCLUDE IN THIS BECAUSE HE WON THE 1975 TITLE AT WIMBLEDON HIS THIRD TITLE, AND IF HE WAS STILL ALIVE WOULD BJORN WIN THE ONES HE WON,  AND POSS JOHN MAC?  IN MY OPINION  PETE SAMPRAS,  JOHN Mac, ANDRE AGASSI, was in the time of when tennis battle was fiercer than any other time witch I think they are the greatest players that ever play the game. ANDRE AGASSI THE ONLY ONE OF THE THREE TO WIN ON EVERY SURFACE IN BATTLE STILE COMPETITIVE MATCHES.

Borg cracked in 81...he was finished. He had kept it all in, then bang...gone.

Good job not mentioning the name of any speaker in the video. O guess this is targeted to people over 65 years old
