"attacks that are just randomly unblockable on very select frames of the animation" is some of the most cursed shit I've ever seen

Frame 1 folks

that one kid in idaho in 99 who figured out the fireball-commandgrab tech, crushed his friends, and kept it secret.

The nostalgia, I remember Yoshimitsu's sword attacks in the old Tekken games being all unblockable. Good thing they're all either slow, weak or deal high amounts of self damage lol

My favorite "unblockable" is one of E. Honda's jumping kick in an early version of SF2, where for some reason it is a low instead of an overhead.

The biggest unblockable is whenever your opponent sweeps you 2-0 and then responds with "GG's, shake my hand"

Unblockables are that bell curve meme where the stupid guy is like "unblockables are awesome", then the average intelligence guy is like "unblockables suck", and then the genius guy is like "unblockables are awesome".

The cyrax one is especially broken since MK9 has a combo breaker at full meter but cyrax net drains your meter so you can't break his resets

I didn't know about the KoF98 thing, but in my heart I could just sense that someone had accidentally managed to create a strike/throw unblockable

For KOF, it isn't just command grabs. Whiffed counters and teleports will make a fireball unblockable as well.

Not a huge fighting game player but a huge fan of the channel, but I love all the content and educational stuff you throw in to it❤️ much love

THAT BRO DID NOT JUST POP OFF WHEN THE MAN WANTED A HANDSHAKE NAW.

Notable unblockables

Spiral in MvC2. If she has swords out and dashes point blank at the opponent, the sword can be unblockable.

In Vsav BB hood can jump in with an overhead bomb that won't be active till she lands, creating her own high low unblockable.

Man, MvC3 is so broken that Firebrand, that has an actual infinite that can kill a whole team, is not a too 10 character. It's so crazy

KOF98 has so many glitched unblockables that people forgot about Galatica Phantom being a legit unblockable in the game.

Honestly, I think we need at least a couple of really broken fighters to come into the scene, because the term "kusoge" gets used so incorrectly nowadays that it's basically lost all meaning. We need a modern kusoge.

Here's one for you: Shuma-Gorath in MvC2 can hit the opponent with his eye projectile, then do his level 1 super. Even if the opponent blocks the super, you can cancel it into someone elses super and the eyes will blow up when Shuma leaves the screen and hit the opponent out of their block, allowing you to make a whole lot of supers pretty much unblockable. Only works with certain supers, obviously.

As soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought "alright tell me all about ApologyMan's Firebrand."

Sometimes it amazes me this genre survived
