I remember my mum buying a purple Hillman Hunter with a beautiful comfy looking purple carpet in the boot..I thought that looks so comfy so I got in the boot and shut it..Then I realised I had the keys with me..I started panicking and shouting then my mother heard me and was shouting were are you..? I’m in the boot I shouted back and I’ve got the keys..She like me started to panic, I saw a cable above my head and pulled it and to my relief the boot popped open haha..My mother always used to tell the story to people, I was only 10 years old but it taught me a lesson 😂😂..
Growing up in the 60s & early 70s I always thought cars had faces. Each car model had a different grill, either smiling or a grimace. Headlights the eyes of course. I particularly liked the smell of lorries. Being only the height of the exhaust, petrol was my favourite. As an adult, I now know it was carbon monoxide I was gulping down! I also ate burnt matches, but that's another story...!
Tales Of Unease is the most wonderfully understated British name for a TV series ever. Got to say I enjoyed the old world charm, the acting and the story.
The bust in the intro reminds me of an old guy who used to go in our pub...One-Eyed Pete, we called him...he always used to sit under the dart board...
