Wonderful. I was 8 in 1969. This is the world that I remember , living in a large Victorian house with just one coal fire. The cold, the dreams, the wonderful music and TV. There were far fewer things but people were more genuine. Some things may have improved, but the actual quality of life, our quality of mind, has been cheapened by all these changes.

Watch this and consider the slop we're served now.

Harry H. Corbett is one of our greatest ever actors. Wonderful play. Beautifully acted. Superbly written.

What an absolutely wonderful play. Thanks to whoever loaded this. Please give us more.

Wonderful how they manage to balance the humour with the pathos.... and some social commentary about the isolation of modern (1960s) life.

Brilliant how they compacted that into 25 minutes. Very touching.

Galton and Simpson the best

Real people 😊

Waiting for the coins to drop in a payphone before you could start talking is such a strong memory. 2p would get you about 10 minutes? Local call obviously!

Another world.🌍

Very funny, but a heartbreaking finale.❤😮

What a great little tv play ah the good old days of television

He still sounds like Steptoe's son. His voice is so distinctive.

I really enjoyed that. Life in London then was so much better than it is now. Growing up in the 50s/60s is something I'll always be thankful for.

The genius of Galton and Simpson and the talent of Corbett and Leach.

American here… I loved it❤ I’ve actually taken to watching movies from the 40s and 50s because I pretty much done with Hellyweird movies

When television was worth watching.

Mix of Chekhov, O'Henry and Mister Bean. Superb

How naive and sweet! How much we miss this today...

Never seen this before, never heard of it! A delight.
