She’s right about one thing. It’s definitely not a coincidence. People realize that religious grifting is more profitable than it has ever been.

Me: "Noah's Ark trending isn't a sign from God. It's the product of your algorithm!"

The saddest "Alright, let's see it." I have seen so far.

That "Let's see it" had 0% enthusiasm.

"I'm sure you do and you are wrong." The bluntness gave me a giggle 😆 keep up the great work doc!

“We know in Genesis 6, mass genetic engineering was going on.”

That version of the Bible sounds way more interesting than mine…

"Noah's Ark is trending right now."

If I was Jehovah, that statement would be so embarrassing to me. If, as a tri-omni deity, the best I can get is occasionally being trendy online, I would be reevaluating ever choice I ever made in my eternal existence.

Predicting the Second Coming by referencing the global flood is a perfect parallel: one imaginary event predicting another.

"They were eating cats and dogs!"

The "ark" is a natural geologic feature.  That's geology 101.  I can't believe people think it's an "ark".

The sad thing is that people will listen to this and take it for the truth. Delusion and fear sells.

8:17 This is heartbreaking to watch. I dont know if shes being sincere, she seems to be but so does Joel Osteen and Kenneth Copelan so thats not an indicator. But IF she is sincere, this is what religious trauma looks like. If I trained my kids everyday to expect the apocalypse, theyd have cptsd by the time they broke away from me. This is heart wrenching because for every person like her, there are thousands who  have been psychologically abused by their faiths. Its monstrous.

The end is nigh! And this time we really, really mean it, unlike the hundreds of times before when we only really meant it.

"This isn't a joke"
"I'm not laughing"

I dunno, the notion that genetic engineering is in the Bible was pretty chuckle-worthy

And I believe the "Trending" was caused by content creators like her following some previous trend that feeds on itself: the more content, more "trending", which causes more content, which causes more trending, and so on...

i feel like dan is slowly getting more and more openly fed up with everyone's bullshit

But Dan, don't you see? Cleaning up our own mess would be hard, and expensive, and take a bunch of time, and require tons of sacrifices (especially from us, the First World people, who have the majority of the power and resources to make a difference)!

It's so much easier to just imagine a magic sky daddy will come fix it all for us, so we can just kick back, relax, and continue exploiting the planet for everything it has left until it's an uninhabitable rock!

I mean, once we finish destroying the Earth, we can always go find another one, right? There's Mars. Kind of. One of Jupiter's moons, I think? It can't be that big a deal, right?

Praise Jeebus!

"I'm sure you do,  and you are wrong" made me giggle.

I quite enjoy how she thinks AI is dangerous while also believing everything in AI generated "news" articles.
