"Nuh-uh." The most potent and widely used apologetic argument.

I no longer assume that people like that would disagree with the "you get to take the girls as spoils of war" bit. The past ~decade has destroyed most of the charity I had for that sort of believer.

4:40 "But wait! There's more!"

Thanks as always for your educational content!! Love learning more each time.

The phrase "exegetically fungible" is absolutely wonderful! 😀

one merely has to accept, as Josh has, that Josh is inerrant.

One of the ways that people like Josh do this sort of thing is to tell anyone who disagrees with them, "You have worldly wisdom. You lack Holy Spirit discernment," which being interpreted means, "You don't agree with me...oh, and God."

"My Faith-based interpretations of my chosen religious texts align with my personal opinions on every issue, and those interpretations always have authority over anyone else's linguistics-based, history-based, or Faith-based interpretations of those texts."

Does that sound like an exercise in pure narcissism to anyone else? 🤔

Last time I was this early...I was...I don't have anything.

If you disagree with the bible, you are wrong.  The bible disagrees with itself.  Therefore, the bible is wrong.

I think this is one your most eloquent and succinct summaries of what univocality is, why it’s prevalent, and, dare I say… heretical.

"If you read the Bible and you disagree,.....you're wrong."

This is indoctrination 101.  Berate people for not accepting what YOU want them to accept.  Will he provide actual....demonstrable....verifiable evidence that the person "is wrong"?  No!  He will continue to promote his "because I say so" theology and provide no backing...but ancient stories in an ancient collection of religious texts.   smh

Cult Leading 101:  If Josh is the one with the correct interpretation and everyone else is wrong, then everyone must listen to everything he says, and everything he says is correct

Thank you for the insightful video!!!

great!

Thanks Dan! Christian’s should perhaps adopt the Hebrew concept of midrash. There was often numerous understanding of meanings in Biblical stories.

Josh has been in debates where he’s spouted arguments that he’s directly corrected on, in person, with scripture, and yet he still repeats those same arguments. Josh tells people what they want to hear and they pay him to do it. That’s the length and breadth of his principles. Lying, means nothing to him. Heresy, just another day at the office.

Why did I start thinking of Lord Jashin from Naruto while listening to this video?

The Micaiah story is really something...That should tell modern Christians that, even IF prophecy is real, you CANNOT rely on it to be truthful or useful! Scripture itself shows that God is not above using it to screw people over (maybe not on a regular basis, but if he did it once, he can do it again at anytime...you want to take that risk?)...and not even, as many apologists say, to ultimately help you by leading you to dark times to strengthen you, since he wasn't helping this king out at all, he just wanted him DEAD! Let's not even bring up all the soldiers on both sides who also pointlessly died in the king's misled war, when God could simply have "smote" the king he hated so badly with a heart attack, stroke or bolt of lightning...or, here's an idea, if he dislikes this king so much, why not just withdraw his support and replace him with another?? I never understood why he didn't just do that with Saul, either...
