We went to Santa Cruz beach in California AGAIN to challenge strangers to jiu jitsu matches... but this time, I wanted to see what the most common moves are that untrained people use so that I can learn how to defend against them.

Do not attempt this without professional supervision. We are professional martial artists in a controlled setting with medical support on standby. All participants receive a full safety and rules briefing, sign waivers beforehand, and can stop the matches at any time. We do not condone violence, and safety is our top priority.

If anybody takes you up on the free lesson and actually sticks with training, you should do an update video where you roll with them again, and compare it to the first time.

The BEST people for doing this are always laughing and giggling. It shows playing rather than fighting

20:05 the biggest predictor of women joining a martial arts or combat sport gym is other women already being there, I guess that also applies to impromptu beach wrestling.

anybody that’s untrained that rolls with somebody that knows what they’re doing, it genuinely feels like a super power, like “damn, he or she just did all that and I was helpless while trying the whole time”, I feel like that’s what motivates people truly, getting hands on it, it’s the best!

Back to the grass roots of BJJ, beach beatdowns to demonstrate its power and recruit some people

The fact that homeboy had to use the muffler on a untrained dude speaks volumes about that guys willingness to put up a good fight!

20:20 imagine being manhandled for this long at the beach, looking to your right and seeing mf wearing hello kitty socks the whole time. Career ender.

Oh man, so glad to see there's hope for people with addictions. I hope Aron joins BJJ and keeps up with that healthy life.

These mats are super dope. I got mine and we had 4 of us on the largest size no problem. It was super firm the whole time.

1. those mats are awesome, we always used crappy puzzle mats or tarp for outside training. 2. athletic guys with a lot of strenght that go for the head hard af are annoying, you need to defend your neck at all cost, keep the shoulders high and be ready to capitalize on it or play guard right away and sweep them or if you want to go for leglocks. always struggled with them when I still was bluebelt, especially being light. these vids are really good to get regular people interested to try bjj.
