Why’d you skip second class and the crew?

You skipped the second class.

I mean, that 5$ was around 170$ today. Dark humor in traumatic situations is pretty well established as a healthy response.

Did you know that some of the luggage that the rich had back then was Louis Vuitton?  Louis Vuitton back then made branded giant steamer trunks for rich people to pack tons of stuff in.  Now those items are at the bottom of the Ocean.

19:59 The Titanic was not a Cruise Liner. It was a passenger liner. They were riding on a glorified sea ferry. The point of the trip was not pleasure, but transportation. The luxury was to keep the passengers from getting bored and going insane during the long travel. So paying thousands of dollars was not for spas and multiple restaurants but immigrating to America, or international business trips. Granted the richer you were, the easier the trip (Though everyone became more equal when it hit the iceberg)

19:00 That was the electric horse that was mentioned in the gym, and if you've never ridden a horse I can unequivocally state that it is in fact exercise, comparable to bike riding but more focused on your core then your legs.

1 shilling is £5 or $3.65 in today’s money

Fun fact regarding the Struases: their great-great granddaughters are King Princess, the stage name of Mikaela Mullaney Straus, and Wendy Rush, the widow of the Oceangate founder, Stockton Rush (the guy who created that crappy sub that sank and imploded 3 years ago).

That diva is Agnes Marshall the woman who brought ice-cream to the masses. She was a business woman and inventor. She invented the ice-cream cone.

All of that earned her the title "Queen of Ices".

After her death she was forgotten, but in recent years she has been brought back as one of the celebrated women inventors and celebrity chefs of the Victorian England.

She was HER.

There's been a recent study seriously questioning whether microplastics were really found/saying there could be a wide margin of error. Cuz everyone's trying to get out studies of it as fast as possible and they're skipping steps or overlooking minor things in order to get the microplastic diagnosis out.

My mom had a paternal grandmother who was born on the day the Titanic sank.

Isidor Straus was actually offered a placed in a life boat and refused as long as there were any women and children still onboard. Ida herself refused to go into the lifeboat, and said "I will not be separated from my husband. As we have lived, so we will die, together."

Meals with that many courses were done over a couple of hours. Each course was small. Maybe 2-4 bites each. So you could basically sample the best of the best over the length of the meal. It's still done today with big multi-course meals. That's why each plate looks like they're ripping you off for how little there is. Ya got 10 plates to get through.

Max wouldn’t be considered one of the younger passengers because he’s 42 years old.

Man does not look like it.

Real silicone is fine for anything not literally on fire, but temu silicone will absolutely leech chemicals. Make sure what you're using was made in a country that doesn't cook street food in sewer oil.

5:30 Pectin exists, but it's not a substitute for gelatin.

To be fair
$5 in 1912 is $160 today

food grade platinum silicone is safe for cooking applications up to 450 F°!  it's very safe in boiling water.
