THE CADDY COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED

In this video we finally finish off the mammoth VW Caddy R build. Our Caddy started life off as a pretty boring 1.6 diesel workvan, and through a huge amount of work and a load of different modifications - the van is now finally done. We've installed a 3.2L VR6 engine, a full dark moss green paint job, BC coilovers, Golf R32 brake caliber all round, EBC brake pads and discs (alongside A LOT more) and now we are on to the interior of this van.

Really surprised to hear you're moving the Caddy on! I appreciate the need to keep projects moving in and out, but I thought the whole point of the Caddy was to be a working vehicle, cool and built but ultimately a part-hauler for the business? Are you going to replace it with another basic, cheapo van in the background?

This channel and Saving Salvage are becoming the most balanced YT car channels outthere. The guys are engaging and enthusiastic in their own style, projects are FINISHED and are not unreachable supercars. No Ferraris, Lambos and similar paraphernalia. Very down to earth. Exactly what I enjoy.

As a windshield/windscreen tech american here. Love seeing these techs applying the urethane correctly on the other side of the globe. Love this build gents we didn't get that van here in the states. But what an awesome idea with the swap. Vr6 the world 🌎

You could install the overhead console light from the Passat B5.5 W8. That light features two red LEDs that shine down toward the gear shifter—a nice touch at night. You just need to run a positive wire from the headlight switch (the gray-blue one) up to the light unit so the ambient lighting activates when the parking lights are turned on. The only modification required is to the connector; since there’s an extra wire, it uses a 4-pin plug that differs from the Caddy's original. Also, a tip: if you decide to do this, you don't necessarily have to hunt for the specific Passat B5.5 W8 version—look for one from the Superb Mk1 instead. It’ll be easier to find, though you will need to swap the green LED for a red one. That’s all from me 😃—I’ve covered every detail. And kudos on the nicely modded Caddy 👏!

Looks good! However, you really want to use a roller for the sound deadening panels. Yes, they stick, but they stick FAR better if they're rolled out. Sometimes they like to come loose off the metal panels if they're not rolled out.
