One thing that is funny to me about the X9 maverick is that, if you have a suppressor, it gets thrown away with each reload and means you just carry dozens of suppressors or other muzzle attachments attached to your mags which just sounds…uncomfortable to say the least.

Inevitable things in life
- Death
- Taxes
- Call of Duty having Cursed Guns to torture Johnathan with.

The first one is basically a P90 sideways which just translates to Halo's SMG... A side loading magazine.

The Dravec 45 actually has a tiny man inside it who rotates the rounds into place.

The moment when @3:00 Jonathan goes on a passionate rant about the technicality of a bullpup based off of a vague assignment by the culture is why I love this god damn show

16:15 "Sir, what ammo do I need from the Quartermaster?" "That's above your paygrade, trooper."

The Warden 308 being double action only is actually part of how it's balanced, in that it's a sniper rifle with a slight delay between when you pull the trigger and the weapon actually firing.

That's said, a double action trigger pull on a .308 caliber revolving rifle sounds like a nightmare and I don't know why anyone would want that.

Cruelty squad has a lot of very interesting guns based on real prototypes that would be fun to see a reaction to

21:35 I feel like if I had to give an explanation, it'd be that all of the wacky sci-fi guns in Black Ops 7 are either used by PMCs or private security forces who have the luxury of more specialized and expensive weaponry, whereas something like the M15 is what regular marines are still using. Just because we have the technology for all these cool future guns doesn't mean world governments will see them as worth the price of production.

Using a missile to stab someone is quite possibly the most CIA thing I've ever heard of

What's really interesting is how he's not just a stuffy British armourer, but has a good read on pop culture so he can comment on what the artists might've been yoinking and sticking together because it 'looks cool' before commenting on why it wouldn't be any kind of a good idea

One thing Dave may have missed is the X9 Maverick is chambered in 4.73 Caseless, so I'm thinking there's some G11 inspiration in the design, probably the internals too.

“Not sure it has a place in a COD game” Johnathan the entire last few entries to the series is highlighted into that quote

I think an interesting one for Jonathan to take a look at could be Escape From Duckov. The weapons in that game look surprisingly good for how simple the art style is and he might be pleasantly surprised with some of them (the photo mode should help get some close ups of the guns too).

I think the hilarious thing about the round counters is they are clearly inspired by Aliens, where the Pulse rifle having a round counter was most likely a way to build suspense

Funnily enough, Jonathan’s assumption that this is during a transitional period makes sense since 2035 is immediately prior to BO4.

Edit: Minor Spelling

The main reason I think you might want to move the magazine on a P90 to the side is that it allows you to have an optical sight on top that is much closer to the bore. On the actual P90, they have to be raised pretty substantially to give you enough room to get the magazine in and out. Personally, I'm not convinced it actually matters all that much, and I don't think it's worth trading the P90's ambidextrous design for, but it's an interesting fictional take that's not completely implausible.

The delivery of “omg its a minigun sniper rifle” is worth the subscription.

22:04 - I'm really impressed by Jonathon's ability to glean plot details about stories and settings purely from weapon designs, like this. He also did it with Gears of War weapons.
