When we stayed at the Marriott my dad remembered that area was where his auntie had lived.

That was just great . Brings a tear to my eye. Looking at the beautiful buildings before they tore them down to make way for the Kingston Bridge .

Good watch & listen.
Thanks. 👍

I was born at 662argyle st went to school and got married had three kids and moved to whiteinch to make way for the bridge but memories never fade

I was brought up in Anderston and went to Anderston Primary and later Woodside Secondary.

Can still name all the families. The Campbell’s , the Ropers, the Reid’s, the Green’s, the Scott’s, the Osborne’s, the Maxwell’s, the Foster’s, the Haggerty’s , the Munn’s ………. the Bower’s ……… so many good people !!!!

Very fond memories of it all.

Absolutely loving how you blend exploration with real historical context. The Lion's Chamber video blew me away – stunning shots and such interesting facts. More please!🔍🌃

Hi my dad was born in 1921 he.also lived in 10 Grace street lot of brothers one.sister bringing tears💖

My dad's family (Campbells )my dad's name was Frank, lived at 10 Grace Street which ran from next to McDonald's on Finneston street then turned right under what is now Skypark and coming out where the expressway is which was Stobcross street or road . My dad was born in 1937 and the family lived there from the early 1900s to i think the mid to late  60s . Can't find much information on the original Grace Street, but it shows up on your aerial photograph from when the Finneston Cran is being built . The original Grace Street sat between Finneston Street and Elliot Street . The entrance to the skypark carpark (Finneston Square) takes the same route and bends round to the right the same way the original street bends . Nice feeling inside looking at the photo as my granda also lived in the same flat as a child, then got married, and all his children  were brought up in the same flat . Can mind my dad saying there were over 100 people who lived in his close 😳 big families back in the day . No telly or computers, so mums and dads had to find something to keep themselves occupied 😂

Thanks

Nice video. My wee mum was born in Gilbert St Dec 1946 next to the old school (the tenement has been gone since long ago) and later went to that school. She and the other kids played on the greeny, as they called it, across at the newer tenement block.

Hi Kenny thanks yes our family's must have been neighbours  way back my dad talked fondly of Anderson his name was William costley
Happy New year.Kenny 😀

Lived in Dover street went to Kent road school then Woodside , loved staying there then they pulled it all down for mix match houses that look terrible, now not the Anderston I loved.

The council still can't manage a great place like Glasgow; the place has been diminished bit by bit since the 1970's. Nobody who lived in the great days of the city could say otherwise.

Do you happen to have anything from overnewton place kelvinhall??

Any of Dorset st.???
